HomeMy WebLinkAbout2002-OR-15ORDINANCE NO. 2002-OR- ~ AN ORDINANCE REPEALING ORDINANCE NO. 2002-OR-8, WHICH ORDINANCE IS ENTITLED 'ORDINANCE OF ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATION' WHEREAS, the Common Council of the City of Jeffersonville by a vote of 7 to 0 passed Ordinance No. 2002-OR-8 at it's regular meeting on April 15, 2002. WHERAS, Ordinance 2002-OR-8 may have significant financial impact on the fiscal stability of the City of Jeffersonville in that the funds have been determined to be necessary for the City of Jeffersonville Health Insurance. WHERAS, the Common Council of the City of Jeffersonville believes it is in the best interest of said City to repeal Ordinance 2002-OR-8. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of Jeff'ersonville that it does hereby repeal Ordinance No. 2002-OR-8 as passed by the Common Council of the City of Jeffersonville at it's regular meeting on April 15, 2002, in all respects. The proposed rezoning is consistent with the current conditions and character of structures and uses in the area adjacent to the Property. The Property is located in the vicinity of (i) the quarry operation referenced above, (ii) Hidden Creek Golf Course, (iii) numerous scattered, frontage-type residential development of similar sizes and values, and (iv) agricultural:uses. 18. The development of the Property is intended to be substantially similar to Petitioner's "Georgia Crossing" development also located within the City's zoning jurisdiction. Home prices within the intended development are expected to be in the range of approximately $110,000.00 to $145,000.00. As such the intended development will reasonably operate to (i) conserve property values throughout the jurisdiction, and (ii) not adversely affect the value of the property of adjacent landowners. 19. F6r the reasons set forth above, Petitioner asserts that the proposed rezoning and intended development of the Property will constitute responsible development and growth, and that the requested change of zoning classification should be granted bo ordinace of this City Couhcil.
