OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSONVILLE, INDIANA
MAY 25, 2005
Mayor Waiz called the meeting to order at 9'30 a.m. and on call of the roll those members present were'
Councilperson Sellers and City Engineer Miller.
Also present were: Building Commissioner Segraves, Youth Director Knight, Vehicle Maintenance
Director Dmry, Street Commissioner Ellis, Police Chief Ashabranner, Redevelopment Director Cahill,
Personnel Director Calabro, Animal Shelter Director Wilder, Parks Director Poff, Councilperson
Barbara Wilson, Planning and Zoning Director Hicks, Fire Chief Miles, and Deputy Clerk Lynne
Mayfield.
Councilperson Sellers made the motion to approve the minutes of 5-18-05 as presented,
seconded by Engineer Miller and carried unanimously.
City Engineer Miller made the motion to approve the payroll as presented, seconded by
Councilperson Sellers and carried unanimously.
RIVERSTAGE
Youth Director Knight asked the Board to approve street closures for the RiverStage events. The
portion to be blocked would be the block between Pearl Street and Spring Street between 6 and 11 pm.
Engineer Miller made the motion to approve the street closure, seconded by Councilperson Sellers and
carried unanimously.
Youth Director Knight said John Young would be selling barbeque the first two weekends of the
RiverStage events. The proceeds will be donated to the city. She asked if he needed any special permits
from the city. Mayor Waiz said he did not-
Youth Director Knight said a reception'would be held at the OverLook on June 4, 2005 before the first
RiverStage production and asked if wine could be served at no charge. City Attorney Merkley said this
would not be permitted.
JEFF FEST
Councilperson Barbara Wilson asked if pOrtions of Market Street, Spring Street, and Pearl Street could
be closed for Jeff Fest on June 11, 2005 Starting at 8'00 am. Engineer Miller made the motion to
approve the street closures, seconded by Councilperson Sellers and carded unanimously.
223 PEARL STREET
Building Commissioner Segraves said he received a letter from Dr. Dennis Williams in regard to his
property at 223 Pearl Street. Dr. Williams asked for extra time to complete work at the property due to
personal problems and finances. Building Commissioner Segraves said the outside of the house is the
biggest issue. After some discussion Engineer Miller made the motion to continue fining Dr. Williams
and to review the property again in 30 days, seconded by Councilperson Sellers and carded
unanimously.
Comments:
Street Commissioner Ellis said trash cans are in.
Vehicle Maintenance Director Dmry thanked Chief Ashabranner for the use of the extra vehicles.
Animal Shelter Director Wilder said any help on Gold Scramble would be appreciated.
Parks Director Poff asked if funds are available to paint a faded mural at the OverLook.
suggested power washing the existing mural.

Parks Director Poff said a mock mn would be done at the pool tomorrow from 5-7 pm.
Police Chief Ashabranner thanked Street Commissioner Ellis for painting the street on Meigs Avenue.
There being no further discussion to come before the Board.the m0ti0n was,made by Engineer Miller to
adjourn at 10' d by Councilperson Sellers and carded unanimously.
