OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSONVILLE, INDIANA
MARCH 2, 2005
Mayor Waiz called the meeting to order at 9:30 a.m. and on call of the roll those members present were:
Councilperson Sellers and Engineer Miller.
Also present ;vere: 'Building Commissioner Segraves, Street Commissioner Ellis, Police Chief
Ashabranner, Vehicle Maintenance Director Drury, Fire Chief Miles, Redevelopment Director Cahill,
Computer Technician Davis, Personnel Director Calabro, Wastewater Treatment Director Crawford,
Animal Shelter Director Wilder, Assistant Parks Director Couts, Planning and Zoning Director Hicks,
City Attorney Merkley and Deputy Clerk Mayfield.
City Engineer Miller made the motion to approve the payroll as presented, seconded by
Councilperson Sellers and carried unanimously.
Councilperson Sellers made the motion to approve the minutes of 2-23-05, seconded by
Engineer Miller and carried unanimously.
OLD BUSINESS
223 PEARL STREET
Building Commissioner Segraves said Dr. Dennis Williams who owns the property at 223
Pearl Street has never submitted a schedule of work to be perfbrmed at the property. After
some discussion Engineer Miller made the motion to give Dr. Williams 30 days to complete
the work or a $500.00 per month fine thereafter until the work is completed, seconded by
Councilperson Seller and carried unanimously.
NEW BUSINESS
CATHOLICS RETURNING HOME
Angela Hays asked the Board permission to hang a banner at Tenth Street and Hohnans Lane
for 30 days. The banner will be taken down April 11, 2005. Councilperson Sellers made the
motion to approve the banner for 30 days, seconded by Engineer Miller and carried
unanimously.
COMMENTS:
Street Commissioner Ellis said the stop signs are in on Perdn Lane. He asked about the
placement of the crosswalk. Ar2er some discussion it xvas decided that hash marks would
work better.
Vehicle Maintenance Director Drury asked Chief Miles to let him know how much fuel he
will need weekly since the gas provider has changed. He said his printer at the gas pump is
bad. Computer Tech Davis said a new one is coming.
Police Chief Ashabranner inquired about getting a key to access the gas pumps in emergency
situations. Engineer Miller said he would get him a key.
Police Chief Ashabranner thanked Personnel Director Calabro for trying to get a better deal
for police department testing.
Personnel Director Calabro said the final quotes for insurance should be in this week. She
said the Policy Procedure manual will be presented to Mayor Waiz for finalization Friday and
will go to the Board for approval the following Wednesday.
There being no further discussion to come before the Board the motion was made by Engineer Miller to
adjoum~~ed by Councilperson Sellers and carried unanimously.
