Galligan called the meeting to order at 9:30 A.M.~ on call of the roll those members present were: Mayor Thomas Galligan, Personnel Director Harold Lakeman, and Safety Anthony Harrod. and R. Director Also present were: City Engineer Bob Miller, City Attorney Anne Marie Sedwlck, Police Chief Mike Pavey, Assistant FiFe Chief William Davis, Vehicle Maintenance Foreman Mike Ewton, Animal Shelter Director Jim Gillenwater, Parks Superintendent Rick Elliott; Wastewater Treatment Plant Manager Kendall Coleman, Wastawater Treatment Plant Assistant Manager Joe Goergen, Dock Master Ken Morris, Clerk and Treasurer C. Richard Spencer Jr., and Clerk Allce Davis. Director Lakeman made the motion to approve the minutes of the meeting of May 13, 1996 as presented, seconded by Director Harrod and carried unanimously. Director Lakeman made the motion to approve the payrolls as presented, seconded by Director Harrod and carried unanimously. BASKETBALL GOAL AT 1116 BIRCHWOOD DRIVE ~Police Chief Mike Pavey reported On the basketball goal complaint at ~ ~1116 Blrchwood Drive. Chief Pavey said that Major Gary Woods talked !'with the people and they agreed to move the goal off of the road. GARBAGE AND TRASH COLLECTION BID OPENING Garbage and Trash Collectlon blds were opened and they are as follows: BFI 405 N English Station Road Louisville, Kentucky 40223 Bid: $5.82 per homed per month $571,361.04 per year RUMPKE 1~795 Hughes Road Cincinnati, Ohio 45251 Bld: $5.49 per home, per month $538~964.28 per year Mayor Galligan said thst we will take the bids under advisement until the City Attorney can look them over. Director Harrod made the motion ¢-~to take the bids under advisement, seconded by Director Lakeman, and carried unanimously. FIRE TRUCK BID OPENING PAGE 2 MAY 20~ 1996 Fire Truck bid were opened and they are as follows: PIERCE MANUFACTURING, INC. P.O. Dlrector Lakem~n made the motion to take the Fire Trucks under advisement, seconded by Director Harrod~ and carried unanimously. ROADBLOCK Carol Leffewl 219 W. Market Street is inquiring as how to go about having a roadblock for her friend who has kidney problems. Chief Pavey explained to Ms. Leffew the proceedures, and City Attorney Sedwick suggested for Ms. Leffew to set up a bank account at one of the local Banks. SENIOR GAMES Personnel Director Harold Lakeman reported on the Senior Games, they will start on June 3, 1996 and it will be the 10th Anniversary of the Games. Director Lakeman is requesting to have Court Avenue in front of Warder Park blocked off. Director Harrod made the motion to block off Court Avenue for the Senior Games, seconded by Director Lakeman~ and carried unanimously. PAGE 3 MAY 20, 1996 ~SEWER TAP IN AT 5005 HAMBURG PIKE Susan Estes is requesting a sewer tap in at 5005 Hamburg Pike for a Office on their property. Director Lakeman made the motion to approve the sewer tap in request from Susan Estes~ seconded by Director Hatred, and carried unanimously. CEDAR VIEW LIFT STATION Assistant Wastewater Treatment Plant Director Joe Goergan is requesting to rebuild/replace #1 & #2 pump and couplings. Sl,250 MILL CREEK ELEVATOR: repair/rebuild, test and certify. $2,800 JET TRUCK HOSE: purchase 1-600 feet Jet hose, leader hoses, fittings and assorted nozzles. $3,685 ELECTRICAL WIRING: electrical wiring and components related to alarm system upgrade phase 1. $5,500. Bids will be taken.(see copy) Director Hatred made the motion to approve the S13,235 from repair and rplacement fund, seconded by Director Lakeman, and carried unanimously. PARKING ON KENTUCKY AVENUE City Engineer Bob Miller is requesting to change the parallel parking next to Heusers at the Cowman Building on Kentucky Avenue to diagonal. Director Hatred made the motion to change the parking on Kentucky ~_[unanimously.AVenue next to Heusers, seconded by Director Lakeman, and carried BRIDGE CLOSURE City Engineer Bob Miller reported that the bridge coming into Jeffersonville E. 10th Street will be closed on Wednesday~ May 29, Thursday May 30, and Friday May 31, 1996 so it can be dynamited. The State Highway will close the ramp coming into Jeffersonville. DRAINAGE PROBLEM IN ELKE POINTE SUBDIVISION Cathy Gatz, 3606 Sea Pine Drive could not appear before the Board, but some of her neighbors in Elke Polnte Subdivision appeared to complain about the drainage in their yards. The neighbors were Cindy Meden, 3605 Hunting Creek, David Bunton, 3603 Hunting Creek~ Ronald Layman, 2102 Elke Pointe Blvd. They discussed the problem they are having in their yards. Mayor Galligan explained that an Engineer will be studying the drainage. After much discussion Mayor Galligan agreed to meet with the neighbors at l:30pm today.
