JEFFERSONVILLE. INDIANA MONDAY, MARCH 22. 1999
Mayor Galligan called the meeting to order at 9:30 a.m., and on call of the roll those members
present were: City Engineer Bob Miller, and Sewage Office Manager Bob Goldman.
Also present were: Building Commissioner Larry Decker. Planning Director Jana Ecker, Safety
Director John Palmer. Wastewater Treatment Director Traylor. Vehicle Maintenance Foreman
Mike Ewton. Street Commissioner Bobby Ervin. Fire Chief Mike Smith, Detective Fleeman,
Sargeant Pavey. Redevelopment Secretary Donna Kammeyer, Parks Supt. Elliott. City Attorney
Anne Marie Galligan.and Clerk Lynne Kempf.
City Engineer Miller made the motion to approve the minutes of 3~ 15-99 as presented, seconded
by Sewage Office Manager Goldman and carded unanimously.

THUNDER BOOTHS
Planning Director Ecker asked if the City plans to rent out space for booths on Spring Street for
Thunder Over Louisville. Mayor Galligan said ten 15 ft. spaces will be available for $100.00 per
space.
VENDOR PERMIT
Planning Director Ecker said Carl Quirm is interested in selling food on the day of Thunder.
Mayor Galligan said he will need to rent a space for that.
VENDOR PERMIT
Lee Lollar of 903 Wall Street requests a vendor permit for Thunder to sell food. Mayor Galtigan
asked Planning and Zoning Director Ecker to take care of this.
Mark SPear's representing Mary Hedge asked permission to have a beer garden at Bob's Pub On
the day of Thunder Over Louisville. He needs to knOw how many people can be in the garden
and the time frame for music, etc. Mayor Galligan said he would have Fire Inspector Clark Miles
go down to Bob's Pub and give the information needed.
PARKING LANE CLOSURE
Jerry White, who owns a business on Wall and Maple Street would like permission to close the
Maple and Wall Street parking lanes to repaint the lines. Manager Goldman made the motion to
approve closing the Maple and Wall Street parking lanes for repainting, seconded by Engineer
Miller and carried unanimously.
STREET LIGHT REQUEST
City Engineer Miller said a street light is needed in front of the child care center on Riddle Street.
Manager Goldman made the motion to approve a street light between 115 and 117 Riddle Street.
seconded by Engineer Miller and carried unanimously.
KENTUCKIANA YACHT SALES
Manager Goldman made the motion to approve a permit for Kentuckiana Yacht Sales to transmit
oversize boats, seconded by Engineer Miller and carded unanimously.
TRAFFIC CONTROL REQUEST
Orville Stoner asked Mayor Galligan to step up patrols on Tenth Street because people are
running stop lights by White Castle. Mayor Galligan said patrols would be stepped up in the
area.
NEUMEISTER QUIT CLAIM DEED
City Attorney Galligan said that George Neumeister purchased property located on the southwest
comer of Tenth and Nachand Streets in the 1970's. Shortly after that. the City issued on his
behalf an Industrial Revenue Bond. In order to pledge the real estate as security for the payment
of the Bonds. the City required that Mr. Neumeister deed the property to the City. The bonds
have now been fully paid and satisfied and the City needs to transfer the property back to Mr.
Neumeister by quitclaim deed. Engineer Miller made the motion to approve the Quitclaim Deed
from the City to Mr. Neumeister, seconded by Manager Goldman and carried unanimously.
FORREST HARLOW
City Attorney Galligan asked the Board to approve a sewer tap-in to be used within two years if
this date as partial payment for condemnation of an easement on the property of Forrest
Harlow. Engineer Miller made the motion to approve the sewer tap-in, which must be used on or
before March 22, 2001, seconded by Manager Goldman and carded unanimously.
THUNDER
Sargeant Garry Pavey said he will present to the Board a schedule of events for Thunder Over
Louisville at next week's board meeting. Discussion was held in regards to parking and the
closure Of streets the day before ThUnder.
There being no further business to come before the Board of Public WorkS and Safety, City
Engineer Miller made the motion to adjourn at 10:00 a.m., seconded by Sewage Office Manager
Goldman and carded unanimously.
