OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSONVILLE, INDIANA
JUNE 5, 2000
In Mayor Galligan's absence, City Attorney Galligan called the meeting to order at 9:30
A.M., and on call of the roil those members present were: City Engineer Bob Miller, and
Councilperson Frantz. '
Also present were: Animal Shelter Director Cindy Keller, Councilperson Les Merldey,
Councilperson Vicki Conlin, Police ChiefPavey, Personnel Director Ellis, Building
Commissioner Larry Decker, Wastewater Treatment Director Traylor, Vehicle
Maintenance Fore Mike Ewton, Safety Director Rodden, Planning and Zoning Director
Jana Ecker, Councilperson Ellis, Wastewater Treatment Assistant Director Wilkey, Street
Commissioner Grant, Fire Chief Mike Smith, and Clerk Lynne Mayfield.
Engineer Miller made the motion to approve the minutes of May 30 and 31, 2000 as
presented, seconded by Councilperson Frantz and carried unanimously.
JEFFERSON COURT
P~esidents of Jefferson Court appeared before the Board concerning the cutting down of
trees behind the trailer park where a proposed road is going. City Attorney Galligan said
they should meet with the Mayor.to discuss their concerns and set the meeting for Friday,
June 9, 2000 at 10:00 a.m.
INFLUENT FLUME AND CLAR1FIER REPAIR
Bids were received from Mac Construction, Coupe COnstruction, Pace Contracting,
Frontier Enterprises, and Smith Contractors.(see attached bid tabulation) Engineer Miller
made the motion to take the bids under advisement, seconded by Councilperson Frantz
and carried unanimously.
HOLMAN LANE SEWER-AREA 5
Engineer Miller made the motion to approve awarding Division A to L.D. Rice, Division
B to Christiani Excavating, and Division D to Team Contracting, seconded by
Councilperson Frantz and carded unanimously. Division C and E were not awarded at
this time.
BLUE LAGOON LICENSE AGREEMENT
Engineer Miller made the motion to approve the license agreement and indemnification
to use the Blue Lagoon as a training ground for scuba search and rescue skills by the
Jeffersonville Fire Department, seconded by Councilperson Frantz and carried
unanimously.
ROSEHILL NEIGHBORHOOD ASSOCIATION
Joann Blake voiced various concerns of some of the Rose Hill neighborhood residents.

There being no further business to come before the Board of Public Works and Safety,
City Engineer Miller made the motion to adjourn at 11:10 a.m. seconded by
Councilperson Frantz and carried unanimously.

Areas of Concerns:
Cross Walks on Pearl and West Market Streets need to be painted.
Ally behind Colston Park needs paving.
Also a turn around is needed in Colston Park. Garbage trucks have to back out and hit telephone poles.
May a fee be added to renters of the ball park for clean up.

Who is responsible fo~' clean up at Harbours,Buckheads and Rocky's?
The bench on Fort and West Market is over grown and needs to be cut back. Who is responsible for this comer?
May the neighbors do the work?
We are seeing a tot of graffiti in the neighborhood and it is a concern.
There are concerns about the new amphitheater: Is there an architect over seeing the project?
There has been concerns about the Deputy Mayor. Are there plans to replace him?
Neighbors are concerned with the Fort Street area: 113 Fort the grass hasn't been cut and the home is in poor repair.
502 Riverside and Fort Street there is late night parties on the weekends.
Neighbors on West Maple have problems with 217, teenagers with loud boomboxe~ spilling out into the street and
across to the VFW parking lot.
Thank you for the stop sign on West Market and MulberD'. But we also feel one is needed on Pearl and West Market
because of Clark Arm residents crossing the street safely.
Dr. Dennis William's property at 22~ Pearl the grass hash t been cut and-i'nmsit~are living in the back of the house.
The dumpster for the Kitchen is unsightly. We suggest they purchase one of the cans from the city and keep it in the
back until trash pick up
