ORDIANACE NO. 2007-OR-25
REQUEST FOR AMENDMENT TO ORDINANCE 2006-0R-20
It is proposed to make certain changes pertaining to the Jeffersonville Drainage
Ordinance 2006-0R-20 to reflect accepted construction practices in the City of
Jeffersonville for pipe bedding, backfill and surface restoration. The following
changes are:
Section 1: Section (6.8.1) of Ordinance 2006-0R-20 should read as follows:
Where pipe is installed In earth areas, not immediately adjacent to
a street or road, place Il1diana NO.8 stone to the spring line for
RCP. The remainder of'the trench must be backfilled with selected
earthen materials, humped over the trench to allow for settling.
Section 2: Section (6.8.2) of Ordinance 2006-0R-20 should read as follows:
Where pipe is installed in a graveled area, the pipe should be
bedded with 4"-6" of Indiana NO.8 stone and the trench filled to a
point half the diameter of the pipe with Indiana No.8 stone. A
representative of the City of Jeffersonville before final cover must
inspect the pipe. After pipe has passed inspection Indiana NO.8
stone should be placed to a level 12" above the pipe. The
remainder of the trench. must be backfilled with f10wable fill to a
point eight (8) inches below original grade and then filled with
Indiana No. 73-crushed: limestone to original grade.
Section 3: Section (6.8.3) of Ordinance 2006-0R-20 should read as follows:
Where pipe is installed In an asphalt street, driveway, or parking
area, the pipe should be bedded with 4"-6" of Indiana NO.8 stone
and the trench filled to a point half the diameter of the pipe with
Indiana NO.8 stone. A 'representative of the City of Jeffersonville
before final cover must inspect the pipe. After pipe has passed
inspection Indiana NO.8 stone should be placed to a level 12"
above the pipe. The remainder of the trench must be backfilled
with flowable fill to a pOint two (2) inches below original grade.
After all construction is pompleted, the trench must be cleaned,
primed and paved with two (2) inches compacted thickness of
INDOT HAC Surface to be flush with the surrounding area. All
patch seams can only be saw cut, cut smooth, straight and tarred.
Amendment to ORDINANCE 2006-0R-20 2007

Section 4: Section (6.8.4) of Ordinance 2006-0R-20 should read as follows:
Where pipe is installed in a concreted area, the pipe should be
bedded with 4"-6" of Indiana No.8 stone and the trench filled to a
point half the diameter Of the pipe with Indiana No.8 stone. A
representative of the City of Jeffersonville before final cover must
inspect the pipe. After pipe has passed inspection Indiana No.8
stone should be placed to a level 12" above the pipe. The
remainder of the trench .must be backfilled with f10wable fill to a
point nine (9) inches below original grade. The trench must filled
with 3000-psi concrete flush with original grade. All patch seams
must be saw cut only, smooth and straight.
Amendment to ORDINANCE 2006-0R-20 2007
This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect upon its timely passage, promulgation and.
approval by the Mayor.
