AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CERTAIN PORTIONS
OF SECTION 1 OF ORDINANCE NO. 97-0R-64
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSONVILLL INDIANA:
WHEREAS, on January 5, 1998, the Clark Circuit Court in Cause No. IOC01-9706-CP-210 found that
Ordinance No. 96-OR-99 was declared void as to the Clerk/Treasurer, C. Richard Spencer; and
WHEREAS, the Court required that C. Richard Spencer's 1997 salary be restored to the level of the
Clerk/Treasurer's salary for 1996; and
VCItEREAS, at the time of the Court's order, Ordinance No. 97-OR-64 had already been adopted fixing
the Clerk-Treasurer's salary for calendar year 1998; and
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 97-OR-64 did not fix the Clerk/Treasurer's compensation at or above the
level of his compensation for 1997 ordered by the Court;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT HEREBY ORDAINED that to compl~ with the requirements oflC 36-4-7-
2(c), Ordinance No. 97-OR-64 is hereby amended as follows:
Section 1
That from and after the 1st day of January, 1998, the following elected official of the City of Jeffersonville.
Indiana, shall receive the following base salary per year.
SEWAGE DEPARTMENT
Clerk/Treasurer ............................................................................................................................................. $7,700.¢
Section 2
This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval by the Common
Council of the City of Jeffemonville, Indiana.
