OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSONVILLE, INDIANA
MAY 4, 2005
Mayor Waiz called the meeting to order at 9'30 a.m. and on call of the roll those members present were:
Councilperson Sellers and City Engineer Miller.
Also present were: Building Commissioner Segraves, Fire Chief Miles, Police Chief Ashabranner,
Animal Shelter Director Wilder, Vehicle Maintenance Director Drury, Planning and Zoning Director
Hicks, Computer Technician Davis, Personnel Director Calabro, Redevelopment Director Cahill, City
Attorney Merkley and Deputy Clerk Mayfield.
Councilperson Sellers made the motion to approve the minutes of 4-27-05, seconded by City
Engineer Miller and carried unanimously.
Engineer Miller made the motion to approve the payroll, seconded by Councilperson Sellers
and carded unanimously.
NEW BUSINESS
HANDICAPPED PARKING
Amold Holder of 811 Howard Avenue, Apt. 14 came before the Board to request handicapped
parking sign. Engineer Miller made the motion to approve the handicapped parking sign
contingent upon police approval, seconded by Councilperson Sellers and carded
unanimously.
STREET DEDICATION
Engineer Miller made the motion to approve dedicating Landsberg Cove, Section 5 into the
City of Jeffersonville, seconded by Councilperson Sellers and carried unanimously.
REPLACEMENT OF CONSTRUCTION WORKER
Engineer Miller made the motion to approve hiring a replacement worker to the construction
crew, seconded by Councilperson Sellers and carried unanimously.
APPRAISALS
Councilperson Sellers made the motion to order two appraisals on property by the MeadoWs
Subdivision, seconded by Engineer Miller and carded unanimously.
Engineer Miller made the motion to order two appraisals on the property by Kitchen
Kompact, seconded by Councilperson Sellers and carded unanimously.
LITTLE LEAGUE PARADE
· Fire Department Captain Jackson asked the Board to approve the GRC Little League Parade
on May 21, 2005. Engineer Miller made the motion to approve the parade, seconded by
Councilperson Sellers and carded unanimously.
COMMENTS'
Louis Galligan asked permission to paint the curb (no parking) at 7th and Graham Streets.
Mayor Waiz said ok.
Computer Technician Davis asked to go ahead with Spam filtering. Mayor Waiz said cost
and services need to be compared.
Personnel Director Calabro said Friday, July 8, 2005 is City of Jeffersonville night with the
Riverbats. Each family will be allowed four tickets.
Personnel Director Calabro said a CDL position is open.
Personnel Director said a HeartWalk sponsor is needed.
Planning and Zoning Director Hick's said he and the Mayor met with the Rose Hill
Neighborhood Association.
Councilperson Sellers said the National Day of Prayer gathering will be on Thursday, May 5,
2005 from 12'00 to 12:30 at the Warder Park gazebo.
There being no further discussion to come before the Board the motion was made by City Engineer
Miller to adjourn at 10:00 a.m., seconded by Councilperson Sellers and carried unanimously.
