HomeMy WebLinkAbout2004-R-29Resolution to support the relocation of Jeffersonville City Hall to the center building of the newly renovated Quartermaster complex 2 Whereas, the City of Jeffersonville has no equity in the City County building, has no binding lease with the county for city government operations in the City County building and with no knowledge of firm plans regarding the future location of Jeffersonville City Hall; Whereas, the city council believes it is beneficial to effectively communicate its consensus to the citizens of Jeffersonville and help direct the Mayor on the subject of the relocation of the Jeffersonville City Hall; Therefore, be it ordained that the city council believes it is beneficial to generally support (not knowing leasing or purchasing terms available) the relocation of the Jeffersonville City Hall to the center building of the renovated Quartermaster complex (also commonly known as the Quadrangle) after being properly renovated to best support the day to day work of the city government of Jeffersonville. This resolution is not meant to limit the city's relocation options or the city council's support for any future locations that may become available but rather to show the City Council's belief that the renovated Quartermaster complex is ~1~ '~.~ ~~or a new city hall at this time.
