HomeMy WebLinkAbout2004-R-28Whereas, the City of Jeffersonville has no equity in the City County building, has
no binding lease with the county and with no knowledge of firm plans regarding
the future location of Jeffersonville City Hall;
Whereas, the current building housing the Jeffersonville City government has
many shortcomings including but not limited to parking, employee overcrowding,
antiquated communications systems, poor audio/visual presentation facilities, poor
functional design, and obvious age related wear and tear;
Whereas, at this time, the city council believes it is beneficial to effectively
communicate its consensus to the citizens of Jeffersonville and to the Mayor on the
subject of the relocation of the Jeffersonville City Hall;
Therefore, be it ordained that the city council believes it is beneficial to support the
relocation of the Jeffersonville City Hall at the City's earliest convenience away
from the city county building to a more accessible location and to a more
accommodating building that is better designed for the day to day work of the city
government of Jeffersonville.
This resolution is not meant to limit or support the relocation of City Hall to any
particular location or building but rather to show the City Council's consensus to
the citizens of Jeffersonville and to the Mayor for the relocation of City Hall away
from its current location at the City County building.
