RESOLUTION NO. 70-R- / ~,
WHEREAS, the Jeffersonville Economic Development Commission, at
a special meeting held by it on October 30, 1970, made the following
findings of fact and adopted the following resolution:
"BE IT RESOLVED: That because of existing insufficient
employment opportunities or insufficient diversification of
industry, the economic welfare of the City of Jeffersonville,
Indiana, would be benefitted by the acquisition and leasing
to others of industrial and commercial ~a¢ilities."
and,
WHEREAS, the Jeffersonville Economic Development Commission has
this day submitted a Certified Copy of the foregoing resolution before
this Council for our approval, pursuant to Acts of the Indiana General
Assembly of 1965, Ch. 402, Section 12, p. 1255 (cited as Burns' 48-8712),
in order that said Cormnissionmay enter into negotiations with prospec-
tive and interested lessees of industrial and commercial facilities.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Co~m~Lon Council of the City
of Jeffersonville, Indiana, that the foregoing resolution and findings
of fact of the Jeffersonville Economic Development Commission be, and
the same hereby ar~ approved.
Adopted by the Common Council of the City of Jeffersonville, Ind-

RESOLUTION
BE IT RESOLVED that on the 5th day of November 19 70 ,
Ma%hilda Watson and J. Thomas McCartin filed a petition with the
Jeffersonville City Plan Commission of Jeffersonville, Indiana, asking
that the following described real estate be reclassified from
Residential to B-3, General Business ..... , said property being
described as follows, to-wit:
A part of Survey No. 11 of the Illinois Grant, beginning at a stake
in the center of the 01d Plank Road~ opposite the lands of Clarence
Norris, and also being the west corner of Floyd Redding's 29.16 acre
parcel, as described in a deed from Guy Daily and wife, recorded in
Deed ReCord 107, page 160 in said Survey No. ll~ thence S. ~0' E. 66
rods with Floyd Redding's line to a stone; thence S. h9° 20' W. 28.h8
rods to a stake; thence N. 20° 30' W. h8.80 rods to the center of the
01d Plank Road; thence with the center of the 01d Plank Road 33.~6
rods, more or less, to the place of beginning, Containing l0 acres,
It being shown to the Commission that said petition was set for
hearing, and notice by publication as required by law and ordinance
having been heretofore given, and after hearzng evidence, the Jeffer-
sonville City Plan Commission does hereby recommend thai said petition
be granted, and that the Secretary certify a copy of thzs resolution
and deliver the same to the City Clerk Treasurer to be submitted to
~he City Council of Jeffersonville, and further ~hat the City Council
zs hereby requested to give their approval to said request.
