An Ordinance Authorizing Appropriations from
Cumulative Capital Improvement Fund and an
Appropriation and Transfer from Sewage Depreciation
Fund.
WHEREAS, heretofore on the 29th day of November, 1971,
at a special meeting of the Common Council of the City of
Jeffersonville, Indiana, held in the City-County Building of
said City, the Common Council passed a resolution fixing the
20th day of December, 1971, at 7:30 P.M., at the City-County
Building, Room 404, in said City as the time and place for a
meeting of the said Common Council for the purpose of considering
and determining whether an emergency exists for the passage of an
ordinance making appropriations from the funds hereinafter set out,
and
WHEREAS, the Clerk Treasurer has given notice of the time,
place and purpose of said meeting in the manner prescribed by
law, and
WHEREAS, it having been deterInined by the Common Council
of the City of Jeffersonville that an emergency exists for the
appropriations hereinafter set out and for the purpose stated;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CO~ON COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF JEFFERSONVILLE, INDIANA:
Section 1.
That an emergency exists and that there shall be and hereby
is appropriated the following:
An appropriation from the Cumulative Capital Improvement
Fund in the Amount of $49,500.00 with which to pay the
State of Indiana the balance due under the joint contract
for the construction of a ramp from 1-65 to Market Street,
Market Street and Illinois Avenue.
An appropriation and transfer from the Cumulative Improve-
ment Fund in the amount of $50,000.00 to the Sewage Construc-
tion Fund.
An appropriation and transfer from the Sewage Depreciation
Fund to the Sewerage Construction Fund in the amount of
$100,000.00.
The appropriation of $50,000.00 from the Cumulative
Capital Improvement Fund and the appropriation of
$100,000.00 from the Sewerage Construction Fund are for
the purpose of advancing these sums for application on
the construction contract of the secondary sewage treatment
plant. The entire $150,000.00 will be repaid to such funds
upon receipt of final payment by the United States of the
grant funds allocated for s~ch construction.
Section 2.
This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and
after its passage and approval by the State Board of Tax
Commissioners.
