HomeMy WebLinkAbout1984-OR-28ORDINANCE NO. 84'0R-28 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ~ECTION VII OF ORDINANCE NO. 83-OR-11 AND SECTION 2-47 OF THE JEFFERSONVILLE CITY CODE. BE IT ORDAINED that Ordinance No. 83-OR-11 and City Code Section 2-47 are amended as follows: SECTION VII Vacations A full-time employee shall be entitled to annual vacation leave with pay according to the following schedule: 1. After six (6) months of employment, five (5) working days vacation; 2. After two (2) years of employment, ten (10) wgrking days vacatioD; 3. After five (5) years of employment, fifteen (15) working days vacation; 4. After fifteen (15) years of employment, twenty (20) working days vacation; 5. After twenty-five (25) ~ears of employment, twenty- five (25) working days vacation. Unused vacation time may not b~ accumulated from year to year. If a full-time employee resigns or ~s terminated on or after January 1 but before July 1 of a calendar year, he/she shall be entitled to one-half the above stipulated number of days of vacation leave during said calendar year. If the affected employee has taken more than one-half the regular stipulated number of days of vacation leave, the difference in pay between the number of vacation days actually taken and one-half the regular stipulated number of vacation days shall be deducted in the final paycheck. If an employee resigns or is terminated after June 30 but on or before December of a calendar year, he/she shall be entitled to all of the regular stipulated number of days of vacation leave during said calendar year, but ~s entitled to no vacation leave pay for the following year. Seniority shall prevail in the determination of vacation requests. Section 2-47 Sick Leave is amended as follows: An employee accrues five (5) working days of sick leave during a calendar year, if he/she will have completed at least six (6) months of City employment by July 1 of said calendar year. From that period onward the employee shall accrue five (5) working days of sick leave for each additional calendar year which an employee is in the employment of the City. Employees may accrue up to a balance of twenty (20) unused working days of sick leave during the first five (5) years of City employment. After five (5) years of City employment, he/she may accrue up to a balance of thirty (30) unused working days of sick leave. If an employee is absent from work because of illness more than four (4) consecutive days, the department head will require a doctor's certificate from the employee. If the doctor's certificate pertaining to his/her illness is not presented, the employee shall not receive sick leave compensation, no matter how many days have been accumulated for sick leave. If an employee's injury or illness occurs while in the performance of his/her job with an outside outside employment is directly responsible injury or illness, then the employee shall employer or if such for the employee's not receive sick leave compensation from the City for Passed this ~/~ day of ! such injury or illness. , 1984.
