HomeMy WebLinkAbout1986-R-08RESOLUTION NO. 86-R- ~__ WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the City of jeffersonville that the chief of Police, the Assistant chief of Police and certain other members of the Police Department, whom the chief of Police shall designate in writing, shall be allowed to use unmarked vehicles for the purposes of surveillance or other legitimate police uses; and WHEREAS, the Common Council of the City of jeffersonville feels that such vehicles are a necessity for the security and well-being of the citizens of jeffersonville. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the chief of Police, the Assistant Chief of Police and such other members of the Police Department as the chief of Police shall designate in writing, shall be allowed to use unmarked vehicles wherever the chief of Police deems it necessary. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this Resolution is specifically made in order to comply with the provisions of the Internal Revenue Service concerning the use of unmarked cars and to allow the Chief of Police, Assistant chief of Police and those other individuals designated to use their cars without having additional sums of money considered as salary by the internal Revenue Service- Adopted by the Common council of the City of jeffersonville, Indiana, this _~ day of ~ ' 1986. presented by me City of jeffersonville, Indiana, this /~..day of 1986.
