New Business
Discuss Art Center-and contract for studio artists-and portfolio reviews this year on fall.
a. Discussion on figuring out a more rotating artists group?or need another a space for a True
Resident Artists that changes every 6 months to a year?
i. Tabled-till later date-and will go over contracts
Commissioner Senones asked for maybe developing a rubric for portfolio review-or use of
facility.Or if we just to case by case for each artist.
Program & Event Planning
1. American 250- Grant received- $5000 to use towards the event
o Kat working with Tara young in parks to add 8 tents that each will showcase various
decades in history for history/art/music/fashion/etc
o Passport being designed and built for community member to stamp at each tent to then
include educational piece
o Stage (with Tara Young from Parks—special events manger)will have music through
out ages
o NEED LOTS OF VOLUNTEERS
2. Fright Fair 2026—VOTE:
• Foundation setting- do cult movie classics-then rotate new movies over the years-
o Discuss closing streets?
o VOTE needed - Motioned by Commissioner Monica Uhl- and 2nd by Commissioner
Donna Reed-
• Unanimous vote-yes
o Kat wang will begin research and order movies choices-
3. Rosie's Walk Way: Quote came in for story walk-no comments-ordering begin, and
awaiting install update.
4. Student Art Show—
• Gift will be the Ice cream from Taylor Cereal bowl- Kat Wang, JPA administrator still
finalizing details- cost$ 2000.00
5. Cultural Pass- Discuss- need for water bottle- collection-suggestion made to contact
Niagara water company to get water bottles for the event—commissioner Miller and
Administrator Kat wang will contact company
UPCOMING
o GCCS Elementary Student Art Show-4/16/2026-5pm- 7pm
o Exhibit open April 17-19, and April 24-26 ( 1pm-4pm )
o May 15th-Annual Shakespeare in the Park series at Big Four-5pm-8pm
Commissioner Comments:
Commissioner Semones: excited for events to start happening and summer to kick off.
Commissioner Freeman:excited about the Student art show starting soon
Commissioner Aychby:asked about new walls for the art show;JAA Kat wang-stated that they will be using
old walls one more year and the next year will have new ones built for the show
No other Commissioners had any comments
