Scope
The Art Educator shall provide services as an independent contractor for the City of Jeffersonville,
specifically for the NoCo Art Mobile program. The Art Educator shall conduct art education sessions for
the public throughout the year, based on a schedule provided by The Jeff Public Arts Administrator.
Responsibilities
The Art Educator shall perform the following duties and responsibilities:
a. Support or facilitate art engagement sessions,as assigned or accepted
b. Find a qualified substitute, if unable to attend a scheduled session.
c. Create lesson plans to facilitate various types of art engagement sessions
d. Utilize approved lesson plans to facilitate the art education sessions
e. Load/unload the NoCo Art Mobile with supplies relevant to each session
f. Monitor and report inventory of art supplies to Program Coordinator
g. Drive the Art Mobile to/from each session location (see Vehicle Operation Agreement).
h. Ensure all supplies,trash, and spills are cleaned from space after usage.
i. Fill out evaluations for each session.

Compensation
The Art Educators shall be compensated for the designated roles as follows:
a. Educator's (facilitates instruction of lesson plans for art sessions): $200.00 per session.
Art educators will be responsible for submitting detailed invoices to the Jeff Public Arts Administrator
in order to be paid for their time. Invoices must be approved through the Jeffersonville City Council,
which meets on the 1st and 3rd Monday of each month. Art educators should expect to wait up to three
weeks for compensation checks to arrive after submitting invoices.
Session Assignment
All paid opportunities through the NoCo Art Mobile program will be equally distributed amongst trained
art educators, depending on availability, or agreed upon between the instructors and Public Art
Administrator. While most of the program schedule will be coordinated in advance, there will potentially
be on-demand opportunities based on unforeseen events and community requests. These opportunities
will be assigned based on Art Educator response time and availability.
Marketing
Jeffersonville Public Art reserves the right to document and market its programming as seen fit by
administration. Any vendor, contractor,volunteer, or participant of public art programming gives full
consent to photograph and media release for use in marketing materials, social media, and any other
online and print channels.
Agreement Duration
This Contract shall remain valid for 1 year- Summer 2026- Summer 2025.All programming planned for
2026 will require an updated contract, even if the program dates overlap.

Agreement Renewal
The renewal of this Contract for the year 2026 will be determined at the sole discretion of Jeff fPublic
Art Administrator. Acceptance into the 2026 Program does not guarantee acceptance into the following
year.
Independent Contractor Status
The Art Educator (Contractor) acknowledges that they are an independent contractor, not an employee
of the City of Jeffersonville. The Art Educator (Contractor) shall be responsible for all taxes, insurance,
and other legal obligations associated with their independent contractor status.
The content of this document constitutes the entire agreement between the City of Jeffersonville and
Contractor.
INDEMNIFICATION:
The contractor agrees to indemnify and hold the City of Jeffersonville and its officers,agents,and employees harmless
from all suits,claims,or damages,including reasonable attorney's fees arising out of or resulting from activities under
this agreement conducted by the Contractor or Contractor's agents.The provisions of this section shall survive the
expiration or earlier termination of this agreement.
