PRESENT(VIRTUAL): CALL TO ORDER Mayor Mike Moore called the meeting to order at 1:30 p.m. in the Mayor's Conference Room in City Hall. The meeting was held in person and streamed on the City's Website. Rob Waiz and Andy Crouch served on the board. APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES: Nothing at this time APPROVAL OF PAYROLL Nothing at this time OLD BUSINESS: Nothing at this time NEW BUSINESS: 1. Les Merkley—Approval of Contract with City of Jeff and Jeffersonville FOP Lodge#100 You have two contracts before you, one is a proposed contract, and the second is a marked up copy showing all changes made to previous contract. Contract is for remaining on 2025 through all of 2026, 1 year contract only. 2% raise, increasing 457B match from 3%to 4%, and keeping schedule of 5 on 4 off the same. This contract is short due to not knowing the future of our funds with Senate Bill 1. Controller Metcalf, and I fill this is fundable through 2026. Council had been meeting with the FOP and could not come to an agreement and requested administration to take over negotiations and we were able to come up with what is presented to you today. Mayor Moore: Today is a day to celebrate. A couple weeks back we met with Heather Metcalf, City Controller, and Les Merkley, Corporate Counsel and started this journey and today this is where we are. I appreciate you,the police officers for all you do and see, you see things out there that are not always pleasant but you always step up and do an outstanding job for Jeffersonville, I want you to know it is seen and appreciated. Heather, you are one of the most valuable people to us, I appreciate all you did to make this happen we couldn't be here today with your hard work. And Merkley,you are a pain in the ass sometimes but that is something that is needed at times and I do appreciate all you do. Mayor Moore makes motion to approve police contract through 2026, seconded by Mr. Waiz, motion carries 3-0. Anthony Stewart, F.O.P. President, Jeffersonville Police Officer—We appreciate you Mayor Moore, you asked us to sit down with Controller Metcalf and Counsel Merkley to negotiate and we come to agreement in an hour and forty-five minutes. We had been negotiating with City Council for 18 month with no avail. Again, thank you.
