PRESENT(VIRTUAL): CALL TO ORDER Mayor Mike Moore called the meeting to order at 9:31 a.m. in the Mayor's Conference Room in City Hall. The meeting was held in person and streamed on the City's Website. Clark Miles and Rob Waiz served on the board. APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES: Mr. Miles made the motion to approve the minutes from May 7, 2025. Mr. Waiz seconded the motion; motion passed, 3-0. APPROVAL OF PAYROLL: Mr. Miles made the motion to approve the payroll. Mr. Waiz seconded the motion; motion passed, 3-0. OLD BUSINESS: There appears to be none. NEW BUSINESS: 1. Amber Ridings—Request for approval of Little League Parade on Friday, May 16, 2025 Mr. Isenberg received approval from special events committee for little league parade. Parade route is Crestview to Park Place, to Chestnut St.,to Spring Street,to Graham St., to 8th Street, and back to Crestview. Parade will begin at 6:00 p.m. Mr. Waiz made motion to approve request, Mr. Miles seconded the motion; motion passed, 3-0. 2. Michael O'Brien—Request for approval to hire a new heavy duty diesel mechanic for vehicle maintenance. I am requesting approval to fill a vacancy we have due to employee leaving. This position is very viable to our department. Mr. Waiz makes motion to approve hiring for vacant position, seconded by Mr. Miles, motion passed 3-0. 3. Kristie Ashcraft—Request for approval to hire a new part-time kennel attendant and a new full-time animal control officer for animal shelter. I am requesting approval to fill 2 vacancies we currently have, one is for part-time kennel attendant, second is for a full-time animal control officer. The vacancies are due to personnel leaving. Mr. Miles made motion to approve hiring for two vacant positions, seconded by Mr. Waiz, motion passed 3-0. 4. Kenny Kavanaugh—Request for approval for 4 police department K9 Officers to attend the National K9 Conference May 3, 2025—May 9, 2025 in Rockwall,Texas. I am requesting travel approval for 4 of my K9 officers to attend conference in Rockwall,TX, and for myself to attend the conference award ceremony on Thursday, May 8, 2025. Jeffersonville Police department K9 officer is receiving a National award. Mr. Waiz made motion to approve travel, seconded by Mr. Miles, motion passed 3-0. 5. Larry Wallace—Request for approval for proposal from Questec Mechanical to remove last of 3 water source heat pumps and install new units in existing locations. I am requesting approval to have the remaining 3 water source heat pumps removed and new units put in. Cost of this is$28,362.00. Mr. Waiz made motion to approve removing and installing new at cost of$28,362.00, seconded by Mr. Miles, motion passed 3-0. 6. Paul Northam—Request for approval to temporarily close the gazebos at Warder Park and Lansden Park. We would like to close the gazebos at both Warder Park and Lansden Park due to people sleeping and laying under them. We will place signage and chains all around both gazebos and electric will also be turned off. If someone wishes to rent the park we will be able to remove everything for rental and return at end of rental. This is at request from Police department. Mr. Waiz makes motion to approve closure of both gazebos, seconded by Mr. Miles, motion passed 3-0. Mayor Moore asked Len Ashack, Director of Wastewater if there is anyway of shutting off power at Victory Point park? Mr. Ashack said yes he will make that happen. 7. Clark Miles—Request for approval for Sanitation department to purchase of trash cans. We purchase trash cans every 3-6 months to have so people are able to purchase from us. We do have money in our budget. Mr. Waiz made motion to approve purchase, seconded by Mr. Miles, motion passed 3-0.
