A RESOLUTION HONORING THE LIFE AND LEGACY
OF JOSHUA "NEIGHBORHOOD JOSH" RODRIQUEZ
WHEREAS, Joshua "Neighborhood Josh" Rodriquez was a devoted and
compassionate leader, a beloved husband, father, son, and friend, whose life was
defined by his tireless commitment to the service of others; and
WHEREAS, Josh was born on October 6, 1974, and tragically passed away on
March 15, 2017, at the age of 42, leaving behind an extraordinary legacy of care,
compassion, and leadership that touched the lives of countless individuals in
Jeffersonville and beyond; and
WHEREAS, Josh served as a Registered Nurse at Norton Hospital, where his
calm demeanor, compassion, and dedication to patient care earned him the respect and
admiration of his coworkers, patients, and their families; and
WHEREAS, Josh was deeply committed to his community, serving as a
Jeffersonville City Councilman At- Large, where he advocated tirelessly for the
betterment of his neighborhood and the city at large; and
WHEREAS, Josh founded and led organizations such as Ladybug Gardens,
JNLA, and the Terraces of Park Place Neighborhood Association, where he worked to
improve the quality of life for families and individuals in his community, leaving a lasting
impact on the lives of those he served; and
WHEREAS, Josh's leadership extended beyond his professional roles, as he was
known for his kindness, generosity, and ability to lift others up, always putting the needs
of his family, friends, and community above his own; and
WHEREAS, Josh's love for his family was evident in every aspect of his life, as
he cherished his wife Meredith and their three children, Enrique, Isabella, and Lola,
always striving to be a dedicated and loving husband and father; and
WHEREAS, Josh's passing has left a deep void in our community, but his
enduring legacy continues to inspire those who knew him to serve others with
compassion, to lead with integrity, and to dedicate themselves to making the world a
better place for all.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of Jeffersonville,
Indiana, that we hereby honor and celebrate the life and legacy of Joshua
"Neighborhood Josh" Rodriquez. His contributions to the City of Jeffersonville, his
leadership, and his unyielding commitment to his community will never be forgotten. His
spirit and example will continue to inspire future generations to work toward a better,
more compassionate, and unified community.
Adopted by the Jeffersonville City Council, Jeffersonville, Indiana this 3 day
of March, 2025.
