Contract for Transcriptionist/Recorder-Keeper Services By this contract The City of Jeffersonville Police Merit Commission (hereinafter the "Commission") authorizes the employment of Patty Rush (hereinafter the "Record-Keeper") to provide the Transcriptionist/Record-Keeper Services on behalf of the Commission as set forth hereinbelow. It is AGREED by the Board and the Record-Keeper as follows: BASIC CONTRACT SERVICES. The Board agrees to retain Patty Rush, as the City of Jeffersonville, Indiana Police Merit Commission Transcriptionist/Record-Keeper, retroactively and in the future until replaced or succeeded, to perform record-keeping functions for the Commission, as further and more particularly described hereinbelow. 1. RECORDS OF COMMISSION MEETINGS.The Record-Keeper shall perform the following contract services including, but not limited to: a. Audio (or other form if audio is not available or new technologies provide alternative and better means) recording of all meetings of the Commission (regular, special, and/or executive sessions); b. Preparation of meeting minutes in word processed foam; c. Preparation of meeting agenda in word processed foram; d. Providing Commission members a copy of the meeting minutes and the proposed meeting agenda(s)in advance of Commission meetings at which said minutes and agendas are to be discussed and/or approved; e. Purchasing office and other nerfssary supplies for the maintenance and keeping ofthe above- described records(costs to be reimbursed as set forth hereinbelow). 2. PAYMENT. Total compensation for the Record-Keeper for providing the above- referenced services will be One Hundred and 00/100 Dollars ($ 10090) per meeting of the Commission. 3. REIMBURSEMENTS.Any amount of money that is expended by the Record- Keeper on office or other supplies for the Commission,will be reimbursed by the Commission upon presentation of the receipts of expenditure at the Commission's regular meeting, and upon vote of approval of said expenditure(s). 4. COMMISSION IS NOT EXCLUSIVE CLIENT. The parties agree that the Record-Keeper is a contractor, not an employee of the Commission or the City of Jeffersonville. Further, this contract shall not be deemed to preclude the Record-Keeper from being an employee of any other governmental or private entity, and the Record-Keeper may further provide record-keeping services for any other organization or entity. 5. CONTRACT TERMINATION. The Commission, by its Members, and the Record-Keeper agree that either of them may terminate the this Contract upon a minimum of thirty (30) days written notice to the other. However, in the event the Record-Keeper is discharged prior to the end of the calendar year,both parties agree that the Record-Keeper shall be paid liquidated damages in an amount equal to thirty(30)days'pay. 1 I UNDERSTAND THAT THIS IS AN AGREEMENT AS BETWEEN THE CITY OF JEFFERSONVILLE POLICE MERIT COMMISSION AND PATTY RUSH, AS AUTHORIZED AND RECOMMENDED BY MAJORITY VOTE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSONVILLE POLICE MERIT COMMISSION, AND IS A BINDING LEGAL CONTRACT FOR PROFESSIONAL TRANSCRIPTIONIST/RECORD-KEEPING SERVICES.
