Both choices include the option to change the background color
aligned with the NoCo colors and an option to include descriptor
text.
• Mr. Crouch mentioned, based on his experience, the descriptor text
is relatively small and can get lost or is not readable when driving
by.
o The Commission voted on the options:
• Current style received 1 votes
• JPA logo style received 4 votes without descriptor text
o We will move forward with the JPA logo option without descriptor
text.
• Gathering ideas for 2025 (Administrator Wang)
• We will have an intern from Ivy Tech next year.
• One task will be to take pictures of all the art we have and
design a coffee table book as a preservation of the art we've
sponsored.
• Due to their time commitment, they may not complete the
project. If so, the project will carry over to the next intern.
Discussion of ideas:
• Mini mural festival similar to
www.louisvillevisualart.org/urban-paint-out
• New ART? Where?
• Preservation idea: next year's intern could also take this one
and could include maintenance in their scope.
• The Art Center needs some updating
• Side lawn ideas
• New:
• Provide exposure to mural artists with less than 2
years experience with the opportunity to paint a wall.
This could be in conjunction with the mini mural
festival with more experienced muralists.
o> Riley has expressed his willingness to
collaborate
• Have more sessions with experienced artists similar
to what we had with Damon Thompson.
• Open sessions at the Art Center:
The general public can bring whatever art
they're working on, share and teach others,
invite a guest artist, etc.
