HomeMy WebLinkAboutHistoric Preservation Commission August 12, 2024 Historic Preservation Commission MINUTES August 12, 2024 President Ed Siewert called to order the August 12, 2024 Historic Preservation Commission meeting at 5:30 p.m. in the Building Commission Conference Room at City Hall, 500 Quartermaster Court. Members present were, Johnna Anderson,Jourdan Ford, Lisa Green, Jason Schlatter, and Paul Torp. Member absent Maggie Moore. Also, present Laura Renwick, Historic Preservation staff advisor and Administrative Assistant Mary Frey. Agenda Lisa Green made a motion to approve the agenda for the August 12 regular meeting, seconded by Jourdan Ford and approved unanimously. Minutes Johnna Anderson made a motion to approve the Monday, July 8, 2024 minutes, seconded by Jourdan Ford, and approved unanimously. Certificate of Appropriateness Ed Siewert presented two bid proposals from ARC Management as requested at the July 8 meeting for installation of windows at 332 Spring Street. The proposals are in the same price range as the one presented at the July 8,meeting. Cunningham Door and Window, $ 436,836.00 and Wallace Glass & Glazing$ 397,750.00. The Board would highly encourage ARC Management to consider matching the side windowpanes at sixteen instead of eight; however, the Board accepts the replacement windows as presented at the July 8 meeting. Ed Siewert ask if the Board would consider revising the standards for the Preservation Board. Lisa Green stated Preservation Board sets the standards and have adopted the state statue. Jason Schlatter strongly encourages to update the window guidelines and Lisa Green agreed updates need to happen. Laura Renwick agrees and stated starting with the windows may be a good idea. Laura will send out current guidelines along with the New Albany guidelines and Madison's. Laura Renwick stated that Chris Nolan has the triangle building on Court Avenue is revisiting his plans for the building. Plans may include hardy board and a metal roof. Laura will work on improvements as outlined on previous application and approve in house. Lisa Green made a motion to adjourn, seconded by Jourdan Ford.
