The Jeffersonville Parks Authority met in Session on Monday, August 26, 2024 in the Mayor's conference
room on the third floor of City Hall. Members Present: Evan Stoner, Johnna Anderson, Debbie Pait, Gus
Luckert, Pam Clark, Stacie Thompson, and Carmen Croudep. Lisa Carter joined during the meeting, and
Larry Jordan was absent.
Parks Staff Present: Paul Northam,Amber Ridings, Sara Nord, Amber Powell, Ricky Romans, Daniel Fluhr,
and Tim McCoy.
APPROVAL OF AGENDA
Member Croudep made a MOTION to approve the agenda, and the motion was seconded by Member
Anderson. The motion passed on a vote of 7-0.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Member Clark made a MOTION to approve the July 22' , 2024 minutes, and the motion was seconded
by Member Anderson. The motion passed on a vote of 7-0.
OLD BUSINESS—None
NEW BUSINESS—NONE
Member Luckert inquired about Duffy's Landing shoreline and beds being overgrown. He ask whose
responsibility it was to actually clean. Daniel Fluhr responded and had reached out to other departments
(Drainage) to assist, as Parks maintenance is short on staff at this time. We've gotten a little behind and
will be working this week to improve the area.
MANAGER'S REPORT
Each Manager has included an activity attachment for your review.
Amber Powell mentioned the Depot is increasing in popularity. There will be a Cruise-In Car Show this
Saturday (Aug. 315Y)to gain exposure. This event will be held from 3:00—6:00 pm.
Amber talked about the BooFest (in Tara's absence) occurring on October 28`h from 5:30—8:00 pm.
Parks Authority Board has always participated in the event, and manned a booth. Each booth brings
start-up candy, and the Parks Department replenishes this throughout the evening. Member
Thompson, Member Clark and Member Pait have volunteered to participate.
The October Parks Authority Board meeting will be scheduled for Tuesday, October 29`h due to the
BooFest event.
DIRECTOR'S REPORT
Paul provided an update to the Pickleball project at Lottie Oglesby. The new surface is down and
painting is complete. Work is currently being completed on the fencing, sidewalks, and light bollards.
The target date of opening ceremonies is Tuesday, October 8th at 11:00 am. Chapel Lake disc golf
opening is scheduled for September 10th, beginning at 11:00 am. No action is happening at Ellingsworth
at this time.

Public Comments- NONE
Parks Authority Member Comments—Member Stoner ask about an update to the memorial planned
for Jimmy Cardwell. Paul stated a tree will be planted at Little League Park (Crimson King maple) in the
outfield area. Benches will be placed on both sides of the tree. Paul is currently looking at pricing.
Member Stoner thanked the entire Parks Department for all their hard work!
Member Luckert made a motion to ADJOURN at 5:13 pm.
