The Jeffersonville Parks Authority met in Session on Monday, April 22, 2024 in the Mayor's conference
room on the third floor of City Hall. Members Present: Evan Stoner,Johnna Anderson, Carmen Croudep,
Debbie Pait,Gus Luckert,Stacie Thompson,and Larry Jordan. Elizabeth(Lisa)Carter and Pam Clark were
absent for this meeting.
Parks Staff Present: Paul Northam, Amber Ridings, Sara Nord, Amber Powell, Ricky Romans and Tara
Young.

APPROVAL OF AGENDA—Member Luckert made a MOTION to apprI ve the agenda, and the motion was
seconded by Member Jordan. The motion passed on a vote of 7-0.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Member Thompson made a MOTION to approve the March 25th, 2024 minutes and the motion was
seconded by Member Pait. The motion passed on a vote of 7-0.
OLD BUSINESS—None
NEW BUSINESS
Tara Young presented band contracts for approval for both Riverstage and Steamboat Nights. In addition,
there was a "rider"for the performer Chika (Juneteenth)as well as the Pro Media Riverstage contract for
advertising. Member Thompson made a MOTION to approve the C`iika rider, and band contracts. This
motion was seconded by Member Luckert. The motion passed on a vote of 7-0. All contracts are approved
pending legal review. Member Jordan ask if each event was spon ored by the same entity, and it was
stated that there's a group of multiple sponsors behind the 2024 oncert series. Member Stoner ask
about the weather statement within the contracts, and payment is provided should inclement weather
occur. This is a standard request.
The 2024 Riverstage contract from Pro Media was then discussed, and Member Thompson made a
MOTION to approve and the motion was seconded by Member Anderson. The motion passed on a vote
of 7-0. All contracts are approved pending legal review.
The contract for Steamboat Nights was presented, and Member Luckert made a MOTION to approve,
which was seconded by Member Croudep. The motion passed on a vote of 7-0. All contracts are approved
pending legal review.
Amber Powell presented a couple contracts for The Depot. The event featuring Low Cut Connie will be a
ticketed event. Member Luckert inquired about the ticket pricing and ask about advertising. Amber
explained this is based on other events within the area for an artist f this magnitude, and pricing will be
$20 per ticket. She will promote the event on the Parks Department ebsite,as well as other social media
outlets including Instagram. Member Luckert also ask about The Deplot capacity. Amber has worked with
the Fire Marshall and based on spacing measurements, it is 500; however,we will cap at 400 maximum.

The other contract for approval was for the Wine after Work event. 1Viember Jordan made a MOTION to
approve these contracts,and the motion was seconded by Member Li.ickert. The motion passed on a vote
of 7-0. All contracts are approved pending legal review.

MANAGER'S REPORT
Each Manager has included an activity attachment for your review.
Due to schedule conflicts, Matt Siler,Tim McCoy and Olivia Mann w ren't available to attend.
DIRECTOR'S REPORT
Paul began with mentioning the loss of a 29-year City of Jeffersonvill and Parks employee,Jimmy
Cardwell. Jimmy's family members have requested something to commemorate him. Paul explained
the "rules and regulations"of naming rights. He's recommended a blench and tree be placed at the

Little League Park since Jimmy invested so much time there. Mernb9r Stoner mentioned his impact on,
the community and the outpouring of condolences; therefore, he'd I ke to recommend consideration for
perhaps naming buill-ling within the Parks"Matter Plan" in the fut re

The Oglesby project is progressing,with pouring concrete this week. The project completion is expected
in August. There's an upcoming meeting with people from Louisville to plan tournaments for 2025.
Member Luckert ask if the courts will be reserved or on a first-come,first-serve basis? This is yet to be
determined. There will also be picnic tables,2%courts for basketball,and updated walking trails.
Thunder slightly this year with having a Food Court. Thee plan is to include more vendors
was changed
next year.
There's many things happening in Parks at this time, as we're hiring for several part-time or seasonal
positions. interviews have occurred arid staffing will be completed son. The Green Team and
Maintenance Team guys have been extremely busy preparing for Abbey Road. Falls Landing electric is to
be completed soon and the glass canopies have been installed.

The Disc golf at Chapel Lake is now in Phase 2,and looking forward tt the baskets coming in May.
We've bought a temporary building for storage,and a permanent building is planned in the future.
The ice Rink discussions have been tabled,as there are other priorities planned for this year.

Parks Authority Me mber Co ments m Member Jordan requested the gazebo be replaced with a steel
structure at Lansden Park. This is due to multiple people sleeping under the current one and ripping
boards up. Paul stated that more discussion is needed; however,there could be consideration to
remove the gazebo at this location. 1

Member Jordan ask when the Juneteenth announcement is schedui d,which is set for Wednesday,April
24`h.
Member Croudep ask when Anchors A-Weigh will begin. The start d.te will be June 152. The
announcement will be posted on social media Thursday,April 25'n

Adult Softball:
-i Men's spring softball league began on Tuesday,April 16.We are full in our men's league
once again with 16 teams.
2. Coed spring softball league began on Wednesday,April 7.Though coed numbers
continue to be low in our area,we did have 4 teams regi ter so we do have a coed
