REGULAR MEETING
APRIL 9, 2024
The Jeffersonville Police Merit Commission meeting was called to order on April 9, 2024, at 5:30
P.M. in the City Council Chambers, First Floor,500 Quartermaster Court,Jeffersonville, Indiana. President
Jeremy Snelling called the meeting to order.
INVOCATION:
Invocation was given by Robert Campbell.
ROLL CALL:
The following Commission Members are present and in attendance:
President Jeremy Snelling;
Vice-President, Robert Campbell;
Treasurer,Scott Aldridge;
Member, Buddy Parker;
Member,James Polk.
Also present for tonight's meeting:
Attorney, Robert G. Bottorff II
APPROVAL OF MINUTES:
President, Snelling welcomes newest Commission Member, James Polk, appointed by the Active
Membership of the City of Jeffersonville Police Department.
Member,James Polk, introduces himself to the Merit Commission.
Approval of past meeting-minutes:
Approval of the minutes from the March 12, 2024 Regular Meeting of the Police Merit
Commission. Motion to approve the minutes kept for the March 12, 2024 meeting made by Robert
Campbell. Motion is seconded by Buddy Parker. No discussion.
Vote: Motion approved 5-0.
OLD BUSINESS:
No old business.
NEW BUSINESS:
No new business.
UPDATE FROM ATTORNEY:
None.
CLAIMS:
Invoice from Indiana Media Group, Invoice # 0324204020 in the amount of$370.00 Billing date,
March 31, 2024.
Motion made by Robert Campbell. Motion seconded by James Polk.
Vote: Motion approved 5-0.
Invoice from Patty Rush, Invoice#24-04 in the amount of$100.00.
Motion made to approve by Robert Campbell. Motion seconded by Scott Aldridge.
Vote: Motion approved 5-0.
TREASURER'S UPDATE:
None.
DEPARTMENT ADMINISTRATION UPDATE:
City of Jeffersonville Police Department Chief, Ken Kavanaugh, gives an update regarding Police
Department. Upcoming efforts in planning for Thunder Over Louisville are ongoing. Fraternal Order of
Police Contract negotiations are continuing at this time.
DEPARTMENT MEMBERSHIP UPDATE:
City of Jeffersonville Fraternal Order of Police President, Anthony Stewart, gives an update
regarding the Contract negotiations with the City of Jeffersonville.

Motion to adjourn Regular Meeting. Motion by Robert Campbell. Seconded by Scott Aldridge. No
discussion. Approved-5-0.
