RESOLUTION HONORING THE JEFFERSONVILLE-GEORGE ROGERS CLARK LITTLE LEAGUE
ALL STAR TEAM$.
WHEREAS, within the past two years the Jeffersonville Little League and
the George Rogers Clark Little League have merged in order to provide the fullest
opportunity for competition for all youth of Jeffersonville, Indiana; and
WHEREAS, the 1990 season was a ringing success for the newly merged
league and for all of the boys and girls who participated; and
WHEREAS, the success of this merger and the spirit of cooperation by
those individuals who have been instrumental in making this merger happen has
nowhere been better illustrated than in the performance of the 1990 Jefferson-
ville-George Rogers Clark Little League Major Division Boys and Junior Division
Boys All Star Team; and
WHEREAS, the Jeffersonville-George Rogers Clark Little League Major
and Junior Division Boys All Star Teams has distinguished its league, its
participants, their parents and coaches, as well as the City of Jeffersonville
by constantly battling adversity in the true spirit of sportsmanship in winning
the 1990 Indiana State Major/i~Jumio~ Little League Boys Championship.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Common Council of the City of
Jeffersonville hereby recognizes th~ outstanding accomplishments of all indiv-
iduals who have made'the merger of the Jeffersonville Little League and the
George Rogers Clark Little League possible, and who have subsequently banded
together to promote the interest of developing the youth of our community into
lifelong resources for the community and its future leadership.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Common Council specifically recognizes
the efforts of Mr. Bill Whitlock (League President), Mr. Bud Davis (Vice President
Major League Boys), Mr. Joe Mat~ingly, (Vice President Junior League Boys), Mr.
Randy Leverett, (All Star Major Team Manager),.Mr.i Shon Leverett (Ail Star Major
Team Coach), Jerry Natterman (Junior Team Manager), and Bart Sigler (Junior
Team Coach), and the following team members: (Junior) Joseph Natterman, Terry
Simpson, Matthew Elliott, K. B. Sigler, Robert Burgan, Brian Cain, Bryan Locke,
Derek Langdon, Michael Coons, Steve Reed, Jr., Michael Schmitz, Richard Martin,
and John Shelton, Jr. (Major) Brad Benton, Denver Leverett, Syd Whitlock,
Ricky Davis, Chris Gavin, Jeff McCloskey, Brian Stewar~, Chad Whobrey, Brandon
Yates, Chris Cundiff, Kenny Trich, and Brian Leep.
These individuals are to be congratulated for earning distinction as
State Champions, and for bestowing upon the City of Jeffersonville great
pride in claiming them as participants in the Jeffersonville-George Rogers
Clark Little League Baseball Program.
So resolved this 15th day of September, 1990.
