PURCHASING CERTAIN REAL PROPERTY
INTEREST IN
WHEREAS, the Common Council of the City of Jeffersonville
is aware that the Jeffersonville Board of Public Works and
Safety has for some time been studying options to relocate the
existing Jeffersonville wastewater Treatment Plant to an
alternate location within the City and is soliciting the aid of
the Indiana Department of Environmental Management with regards
to receiving a portion of
that agency; and,
WHEREAS, the Common

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that:
Pursuant to the provisions of Indiana Code 36-1-10.5-3,
the Jeffersonville Board of Public Works shall serve as
the "purchasing agent" for these purposes, said board
being the board of the City of Jeffersonville, Indiana,
with the power to purchase land or structures for the
benefit of the Jeffersonville sewage utility.
The Jeffersonville Board of Public Works has previously
caused the above-described property to be appraised by
Century 21 The Reisert Company, Inc., and Chapman and
Company, which firms qualify under the provisions of
Indiana Code 25-34.1 as appraisers and licensed real
estate brokers, and the Common Council hereby acknowledges
that copies of said appraisals have been filed with the
Clerk-Treasurer of the City of Jeffersonville as of the
date of this resolution.
Said appraisals shall be kept on file for a minimum period
of five (5) years by the Clerk-Treasurer of the City of
Jeffersonville, Indiana.
The Common Council of the City of Jeffersonville, Indiana,
therefore concludes that the relocation of the
1990, by the Common
Clark County, Indiana.
Jeffersonville Wastewater Treatment Plant is a positive
step for the economic development and well-being of this
community, and therefore indicates its interest and
approves the Jeffersonville Board of Public Works and
Safety purchase of said property pursuant to the
provisions of Indiana Code 36-1-10.5 et seq.
