HomeMy WebLinkAboutJBA January 9, 2024 JEFFERSONVILLE BUILDING AUTHORITY MINUTES January 9, 2024 Larry Wallace,Jeffersonville Building Commissioner called the regular meeting of the Jeffersonville Building Authority to order on January 9, 2024 at 9:00 a.m. in the Building Commissioner's Conference Room on the second floor in Jeffersonville City Hall, 500 Quartermaster Court. Members present: Alan Conner, Richard Eklund (via zoom), Bill Fry and Mayor Mike Moore. Also, present Mary Frey, Administrative Assistant MINUTES Alan Conner made a motion to approve the minutes for the December 12, 2023 meeting, seconded by Bill Fry and approved unanimously. EXPENDITURE REPORT Richard Eklund made a motion to accept the December 2023 revenue and expenditure reports as presented, seconded by Alan Conner and approved unanimously. OLD BUSINESS Larry Wallace reported completion of renovation work for the breakroom in the Mayor's office area has been completed. New Business Larry Wallace stated that he has requested the appropriation of$100,000.00 to be placed into the repairs and maintenance fund. Larry Wallace stated the unit for first floor is on order and the space will not accommodate a system with a humidifier. Bill Fry ask if we could possibly look for a smaller unit or explore redesigning the space. Larry Wallace stated that the evrs has been running twenty-four seven and has since been placed on a timer. Larry Wallace also stated he would be following a bid process for the remainder of the replacement of units. Larry Wallace presented three proposals for the sealing of windows at Jeffersonville City Hall. Richard Eklund questioned replacing windows as outlined in the report from Universal Design. Larry Wallace stated the replacement of windows is not cost effective at this time and we should start with sealing of windows. Alan Conner made a motion to accept proposal from Man Company for$ 9,500.00, seconded by Bill Fry and approved unanimously. In reference to humidity in the building, Larry has set evrs on timers, replaced 23 sprinkler heads and sealed the east and west stairwells. Richard Eklund ask for update on replacement lights on building. Larry stated that repairs have been made on the cupola lights, still working on exterior lights and looking for lights that will change color.
