NEW BUSINESS
Interlocal Agreement with Greater Clark County Schools—Mayor Moore—I come before
this board asking for a$450,000 gift to Greater Clark County Schools which $400,000 is to
purchase a bus (similar to the diagram provided) for Jeffersonville High School and $50,000 for
new video boards inside Johnson Arena at Jeffersonville High School. It has been some time
since there has been a bus of this nature to transport athletes, choir or other extracurricular
activities to games, functions or competitions. This is a 56 seat passenger freightliner, leather
interior with plenty of storage space underneath for equipment. It will take approximately 9
months to build this and be customized with the Red Devil logo on it. The purpose of this
interlocal agreement has been established for the benefit of the School Corporation's students,
faculty, employees, administrators, general public and citizens of the City and surrounding
communities for both economic and redevelopment benefit. Per Les Merkley, this is a motion
to approve Resolution 2023-R-3 for Interlocal Agreement between Jeffersonville
Redevelopment Commission,The Common Council and The Greater Clark County School
Board. Mr. Vissing, Jeff High Class of 1966, made a motion to accept Resolution .2023-R-3
with Mr. Owen, Jeff High Class of 2009, seconding, passing 4-0 with Mr. Hawkins abstaining
from the vote.
