BEFORE THE JEFFERSONVILLE COMMON COUNCIL
STATE OF INDIANA
A RESOLUTION APPROVING AMENDMENT TOI COLLECTIVE BARGAINING AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE
CITY OF JEFFERSONVILLE AND THE JEFFERSONVILLE FRATERNAL ORDER OF POLICE LODGE#100
WHEREAS,the Common Council for the City of Jeffersonville,Clark County, Indiana(the"Council",
is the city's statutory legislative and fiscal body pursuant to I.C. 36-4-5-6(as amended); and
WHEREAS, the Council, on behalf of the City has previously participated in collective bargaining
negotiations with the Jeffersonville Fraternal Order of Police Lodge#100 for the purpose of entering into
a collective bargaining agreement(the"Agreement");and
WHEREAS, the said Agreement was signed on June 23, 2021 and became effective on January 1,
2021 and was to remain in full force and effect until December 31, 2024 (see attached Exhibit"A");and
WHEREAS, the Council contemporaneously with the administration now desires to approve an
amendment to the said Agreement,subject to the approval by both the Jeffersonville Fraternal Order of
Police Lodge#100 and the Mayor of Jeffersonville; and
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE JEFFERSONVILLE COMMON COUNCIL, COUNTY OF
CLARK,STATE OF INDIANA,THAT:
1. The Council hereby amends Article 27.1 of the said collective bargaining Agreement attached
hereto as"Exhibit A" and incorporated herein by reference as follows:
Effective July 15`, 2023, newly hired employees shall be paid a Probationary Salary equal
to 95% of the Patrolman Salary for their first year of employment. Employees retained
beyond the probationary period shall automatically earn the Patrolman Salary after their
1st anniversary of employment. No employee hired before or after July 1'", 2023 shall be
compensated at a rate not less than 95%of the Patrolman Salary.
2. All other provisions of the said Agreement not in direct conflict with the aforementioned
amendment shall remain unchanged.
3. The approval of the said amendment is subject to the approval by both the Jeffersonville
Fraternal Order of Police Lodge#100 and the Mayor of the City of Jeffersonville.
4. This resolution shall be in full force and affect after its passage, approval and confirmation
require by law.
