MINUTES
May 8, 2023
President Ed Siewert called to order the May 8, 2023 Historic Preservation Commission meeting at 6:00
p.m. in the Building Commission Conference Room at City Hall, 500 Quartermaster Court.
Members present were, Jourdan Ford, Lisa Green,Jason Schlatter and Evan Stoner.
Absent, members, Johnna Anderson and Maggie Moore. Also,present Laura Renwick, Historic
Preservation staff advisor and Administrative Assistant Mary Frey.
Agenda
Lisa Green made a motion to approve the Monday May 8, 2023 agenda as presented, seconded by
Jourdan Ford and approved unanimously.
Minutes
Evan Stoner made a motion to approve the Monday April 10, 2023 minutes, seconded by Jason Schlatter
and approved unanimously.
Certificate of Appropriateness
Chris Crawford with Solid Rock Construction Services appeared before the board to request a Certificate
of Appropriateness for 207 Spring Street. Chris Crawford is proposing to remove two existing structures
located in the rear of 207 Spring Street. The new structure will be 26 x 30 and set close to the existing
structure. The structure will be open sided built with treated post and asphalt shingles.No electric will be
added. Jason Schlatter questioned if the roof would be a hip roof. Chris Crawford stated it would be a
gable roof, with vinyl gable, aluminum overhang and exposed wood.
Ed Siewert stated that the he would like hardy board and no vinyl in the gable. Lisa Green made a motion
to accept the proposal as presented with a traditional lap siding or hardy board to be installed in the gable
roof, seconded by Evan Stoner and approved unanimously.
Laura Renwick stated that she approved a window sign for a tattoo studio located at 526 Kentucky.
With no further business, Jason Schlatter made a motion to adjourn, seconded by Lisa Green.
