JEFFERSONVILLE POLICE MERIT COMMISSION
REGULAR MEETING
OCTOBER 11,2022
The Jeffersonville Police Merit Commission meeting was called to order on October 11, 2022,at
5:00 P.M.in the City Council Chambers, First Floor,500 Quartermaster Court,Jeffersonville, Indiana.
President Jeremy Snelling called the meeting to order with the following in attendance: President
Jeremy Snelling,Vice-President Bonnie Deppert, Buddy Parker, Robert Campbell,Scott Aldridge,and
Patty Rush. Absent was Attorney Robert Bottorff.
Invocation was given by Robert Campbell.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES:
President Snelling presented the.Minutes from our Regular Meeting held on September 13,
2022, asking if there were any questions, corrections,or additions. Mr. Parker made a motion to
approve the Minutes as presented and seconded by Ms. Deppert. Voted 5-0
OLD BUSINESS: None
NEW BUSINESS:
The Police Administration requested dates from the Merit Commission for a Special Meeting to
accept matters of discipline. After discussion,Wednesday, October 19,2022 at 5:00 P.M.was agreed by
all the Commission. The Special Meeting will be held at the Jeffersonville Police Department.
Assistant Chief McVoy advised the Commission that Robinson and Cochran will graduated from
Evansville on October 28th and then will FTO here at our department. Isaac Hall an experienced officer
that graduated from Indianapolis is in our FTO at this time and doing well. The last ones hired Wilson
and Doty will be getting some extended training and will be attending the Academy in Plainfield
beginning in January.
Assistant Chief McVoy advised that Jesse Summerfield has resigned, effective November 1,
2022,which leaves 91 Officers at the end of the month.
CLAIMS:
President Snelling presented Invoice 2022-10 from Patty Rush in the amount of$100.00. Mr.
Campbell made a motion to approve the Invoice for$100.00 and seconded by Ms. Deppert.
Voted 5-0.
President Snelling presented Invoice#LIN2022.40 from Public Safety, LLC for professional
services rendered to the Jeffersonville Police Department for applicant testing services in the amount of
$3,350. This contains the costs to provide the written exam and structured oral interviews. Mr.
Campbell made a motion to approve the Invoice for$3,350 and seconded by Mr. Parker.
Voted 5-0
ADJOURNMENT:
Mr. Parker made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 5:35 P.M.and seconded by Mr.Campbell.
Our next meeting will be held on November 8, 2022 at 5:00 P.M. in City Hall.
