The Jeffersonville Parks Authority Met in Session on Monday, September 26, 2022 in the Mayor's
conference room on the third floor of City Hall. Members Present: Bill Burns, Hope Northam, Johnna
Anderson, Ralph Scales, Lisa Carter, Savannah O'Neil and Carmen Croudep. Also Present: Asst. Director
Amber Ridings. ,
APPROVAL OF AGENDA
Member Burns made a MOTION to approve the agenda for the September 26th, 2022 Parks Authority
Meeting,the motion was seconded by Member Croudep. The motion passed on a vote of 7-0.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Member Anderson made a MOTION to approve the minutes from the August 22nd, 2022 Parks Authority
Meeting,the motion was seconded by Member O'Neil. The motion passed on a vote of 7-0.
REQUEST FOR SECRETARIAL CHANGE
Amber Ridings announced the change in the Secretary position from Heather Pennington to Cindy
Orem. Cindy currently works in the Parks Department.
OLD BUSINESS- None
NEW BUSINESS
Amber Powell has several contracts for Steamboat Nights,which include Top Shelf,Showtime Photo
Booth, Bluegrass Rides and Louisville Silent Disco. Member Burns requested to pend approval of the
Bluegrass Rides contract until close legal review. All other contracts are approved pending usual legal
review.
DIRECTOR'S REPORT
Home of Champions dedication is scheduled for this Saturday, Oct. 15t at Big 4 Park. This begins at 2:30
under the stairs. The Jeffersonville 1975 and 1977 State Champion Women's Track Teams are being
honored.
The Youth Indoor Soccer Program kicks-off this Saturday, Oct. 15t at the Envision Center. This is a
Basic/Instructional league for 3—6 yr. olds, and runs from 9 am-12 pm through November 5th
Enrollment has increased from last year to 50 kids.
REPORTS AND COMMENTS
Amber Powell-Steamboat nights is set for this Friday and Saturday evening(Sept. 30th/Oct. 15t)from
7:00—11:00. This year will feature a glow theme. This year we've added a Giant Slide and Musical
Swings to the event. Concerts will feature the Louisville Crashers on Friday evening and Top Shelf on
Saturday. The bands will take the stage at 9:00 pm.
Big Four Boo Fest is happening Monday, October 24th,from 5-7 pm. Amber Powell ask for volunteers of
the Parks Authority Board,to have a table to hand out candy. President Carter volunteered and

Member Burns volunteered for the City Council to also participate. Both the candy and the tables will
be provided for City departments; however, other participants are responsible for their own items.
Light-Up Jeff is scheduled for Saturday. November 26th. This begins at Warder Park with the North Pole
party and visit with Santa. Festivities start at 4:00,followed by the Holiday parade at 6:00 pm. Light-Up
Jeff will occur at 7:00 at Warder Park.
The Ice Rink will also be opening that same Saturday, November 26th at 12:00.
Ricky Romans—The Jeff Youth Football League is winding down with playoffs starting this week. The
tournament will be completed the following weekend, October 8'and 9th.
Vissing Park has been shut down for quite some time; however,there's been ongoing work on the fields.
Chris Rosio has planted Bermuda grass. .A gentleman named Thomas has done irrigation work, as he's
moved some irrigation heads around (lip of the infield has been moved). Donnie Poole, Paul and Ricky
(with the maintenance guys) will be apply additional materials so in the Spring the fields will be top-
notch, up and running.
Little League has its last week of activity Oct. 1st and 2"d with a rental, otherwise has been shut down for
the year. We are looking forward to a very busy 2023.
Woehrle Complex has been non-stop with rentals and activity. Rentals are booked in October and
November, and as we get closer to the winter months of December and January,things will be hit&
miss. Rock Creek has gone through some changes; however, continue to play football at WAC. Boyce
College plays soccer, and utilizes WAC as their home venue.
Tim McCoy—Green Team has been mowing for the past 4-5 weeks,then it will be time for leaves.
There are also liability trees,which must be counted prior to the leaves falling. We're estimating 60-70
trees will be removed this winter. The landscaping projects completed have been cleaning and mulching
of the beds at WAC, Ken Ellis, Envision Center,Vissing, Cherry Hill, and Warder Park. They're currently
working on the Paul Northam Lodge and Gaither Park.

Parks Authority Member Comments-Savannah O'Neil announced her resignation from the Parks
Authority Board, as she's had a change in residence outside the City limits.
Member Burns made a motion to ADJOURN at 5:51 pm, PASSING on a vote of 7-0.
