HomeMy WebLinkAbout1990-OR-51ORDINANCE NO. WHEREAS, it has been determined that it is now necessary to appropriate more money than was appropriated in the annua! budget. NOW, THEREFORE: SECTION ONE BE IT ORDAINED BY the Common Council of the City of Jeffersonville, Clark County, Indiana, that for the expenses of said City the following sums of money are hereby appropriated and orderded set apart out of the fund herein named and for the purposes herein specified, subject to a law governing the same: AMOUNT AMOUNT REQUESTED APPROVED GENERAL FUND Appropriation from the General for the following: FIRE DEPARTMENT Overtime Fund $~0,000.00 LOCAL ROADS AND STREETS FUND Appropriation from the Local Roads And Streets Fund for the following: Street Construction and Reconstruction $~0~000.00 Appropriation from the Parks and Recreation Fund for the following: Supplies, Parts, & Equipment to upgrade Parks $ 5~000.00 SECTION TWO This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval by the State Board of Tax Commissioners. OREM, MAYOR EXCERPTS FROM THE COUNCIL PROCEEDINGS OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSONVILLE, INDIANA OCTOBER 17, 1990 The Common Council of the City of Jeffersonville, Indiana met Chambers, in the City-County Building in Jeffersonville, Indiana, on the 17th day of October, 1990, at 7:30 o'clock P.M. The meeting was called to order by Mayor Dale Orem. The invocation was given by Reverend Joyce Seeman. Mayor Orem asked all those present to stand and pledge allegiance to the flag. The roll was called and those present were: Councilpersons Jimmy Carter, Marie Clapp, Ron Grooms, Tony Harrod, John Perkins, and Robert Waiz. Absent: Councilperson Andrew Williams. Other business followed: Council~erson Williams arrived at 7:40 o'clock P.M. Other business followed: Mayor Orem introduced Ordinance No. 90-OR-51, An Ordinance of Additional Appropriation. Councilperson Perkins questioned the need for the additional overtime in the Fire Department. Fire Chief Collins explained this has been caused by the opening of the third firehouse, an unusual amount of sickness, a broken bone, and surgery. Councilperson Perkins feels there is a need to look at the overtime situation in the future. Chief Collins assurred Councilperson Perkins no time off is given for extra chores performed during duty hours. Following all discussion Councilperson Perkins made the motion to pass Ordinance No. 90-OR-51 on the first and second reading, seconded by Councilperson Grooms. Following further discussion, Councilperson Grooms withrew his second and Councilperson Perkins withdrew his motion. Councilperson Perkins then made the motion to suspend the rules for Ordinance No. 90-OR-51, seconded by Councilperson Clapp, passing with a unanimous vote. Councilperson Perkins then made the motion to pass Ordinance No. 90-OR-51 on all three readings, seconded by Councilperson Clapp, passing with the following roll call vote: Ayes: Councilpersons Grooms, Harrod, Carter, Williams, Clapp, Waiz, and Perkins. Nays: None.
