Approve Minutes from JPAC Meeting—June 13, 2022—Motion to approve minutes as written by Sarah Young, seconded by Abbigail Richmer, motion carried unanimously. Gallery Updates -Emily Dippie Inked, Kim Walls—Currently,David Millers show is on the digital gallery, as of end of July we will be putting up,a new show called Inked. Very Beautiful and complex work. If you can make it down there, her work will be up July 27— September 26. Sticky Note Competition—Emily Dippie I was at the sticky note Ribbon Cutting and it was amazing, all the winners were there and news media was there very proud of this event. Sticky Note display is up and is up on side of Noco building. We had a pretty good crowd, couldn't really go outside much because of the heat but it still turned out great. Thank you Insta prints for getting everything printed for us. Thank you Matt Siler and maintenance for getting everything hung and ready. Story Trail—Emily Dippie Ceremony was real sweet. I was able to get the story completely installed. It was actually nice to see all the panels at once. It was a great event and my kid is on cloud nine still. It was nice to see a lot of the local teachers at the event. New Business: NoCo Art Mobile—Emily Dippie We want to get very excited about the NoCo Art Mobile we are currently getting it decorated, said John McCarthy. We have had some wonderful applications for artist to work with the art mobile. Thursday, July 21 will be the ribbon cutting for van, at 2:30 p.m. All four artists will be there and a representative from Samtec will be there since they are the sponsor for the art mobile. Both sides are the same and the back will have all of our sponsors listed. I have three artists that have signed and one that is ready to sign the contract. The way I have written the contracts with the artists I have written it to be paid by stipend but I also stated an amount if just hiring them so that way they are able to be covered. My only concern with the NoCo Arts Mobile volunteers we will need to have background checks on those individuals because some of the places we will be attending. Teen Arts Council Discussion—Emily Dippie First meeting of Teen Art Council being in October, that way we can get applications out in August, back in September, and then meeting in October, and this will run through May of 2023. And then in August we will start over to do it again. Where will they be holding the meetings? Asks Sarah Young. I would assume at the Art center, says Emily Dippie. Sock Drawer Productions—Emily Dippie During their run in September they are already doing 10 productions. Basically is boils down to 1200 per production which come up to 7,200.00. We are slightly under budget at this point, about$1,500.00 and we have a grant out for the art mobile, for$3,000.00. So with all this information we will have a little wiggle room. If we want to see if we can make this work with$7,200.00, or not do it at all, or do somewhere around $4,500.00? Totally up to you all. This would cover 4 schools, and the schools would only be Jeffersonville schools. I would say if we wait until August meeting we would have to have a firm answer at that meeting. Sarah Young's Contract—Emily Dippie You have in front of you is a job scope that includes some holes that need filled. Coordination and development of volunteers. Dealing with communication for a lot of the larger scale events. Event coordination, and development and programming for NoCo. I would need a formal motion and vote on this for Sarah Young to be able to accept this contract. Will she be able to stay on as a Commissioner, asks Susan Harrison. She would still be able to sit on this commission with no conflict. I think Sarah is very brave with her questions and doesn't mind asking really hard questions and I believe that is a great quality for position of arts coordinator. Susan Harrison makes motion to accept contract for Sarah Young, seconded by Kofi Darku, motion carried unanimously. Commissioner's Comments Susan Harrison—I want to celebrate we finally got the Arts van. Kofi Darku—I appreciate and support our chemistry within this group of people. It shows through everything we do. Next meeting will be August 8, 2022 at 5:30 p.m. here in conference room. With nothing further to come before the board meeting adjourned at 6:51p.m. Minutes Submitted mutes Approved by: ' `' Christy O'Neil J hn/McCarthy, Chai erson c
