NOCO Art Mobile—Emily Dippie
We have been on the hunt for mobile unit, and due to budget we had to change our path and started looking at
vans. We have found one and are in the process of purchasing now. We have started meeting with Barton Kraft
to help with writing our curriculum. We have looked inside this van we will be able to install shelving units to
hold totes just like in NOCO Art center, said John McCarthy. We have looked at fold up furniture, maybe pop
up tents. We have come up with list of supplies, said Emily Dippie. The van rides low, so it will not be hard to
get supplies off and on. Is the van only for staff?Asks Sarah Young. Yes, only staff, says John McCarthy. How
is budget on this?Asks Sarah Young. Since we moved away from trailer and to a van, I did have to expand the
budget but, committee is comfortable—we received a grant and another city department helping with interior
set up,we are not out as much as it could have been, said Emily Dippie.
Amplify—Emily Dippie
Teah Williams-Hampton, Denise Freville, &Kofi Darku, and I had a meeting that turned out to be very
productive—looking into have a photo booth, step and repeat wall, and of course a band, says Teah
Williams-Hampton. I am working on the sculptural piece, I am using tubes to create what looks like sound
waves that people will be able to paint or color or whatever, said Denis Freville. We will have coloring books
and crayons there for people, says Rosey Callahan. We will be shutting down the street for the days, says Emily
Dippie. Food will be, American Smokehouse and band will be in street. I am working with an organization and
we will have 8 mini horses, and will have a horse fashion show. Since they are doing this for free they will be
charging for pictures. Event will be 1p-4p, and will need volunteers on April.9, says Emily Dippie. Sarah
Young, Rosey Callahan, John McCarthy, and Kofi Darku all volunteered to help with event.
