AN ORDINANCE GRANTING VOLUNTARY ANNEXATION OF A PORTION OF
THE CLARK MARITIME CENTRE PROPERTY TO CITY OF JEFFERSONVILLE
WHEREAS, the Indiana Port Commission has filed a voluntary petition for
annexation of a portion of the Clark Maritime Centre before the Common Council of the
City of Jeffersonville; and
WHEREAS, the Common Council has found that annexation of the real estate
would serve the best interest of the Clark Maritime Centre and the City of Jeffersonville;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of
Jeffersonville that the following described real estate shall be annexed into the City of
Jeffersonville, to wit:
A part of Survey No. 14 and No. 15 of the Illinois Grant in Utica Township of
Clark County, Indiana, being part of the same property conveyed to the State of
Indiana at Deed Drawer 6, Instrument 3144 and Deed Drawer 14, Instrument 7253
and bounded as follows:
Commencing at a stone monwnent which marks the southeast comer of
Survey No. 13 and the southwest comer of Survey No. 14 in the north line
of Survey No.6 which is the True Point of Beginning. North 54 degrees
14 minutes 07 seconds East, 3,019.76 feet along the south line of Survey
No. 14 to a brass-capped stone monument which marks the northeast comer
of Survey No.6 and northwest comer of Survey No.7; thence, North 53
degrees 55 minutes 48 seconds East, 1,085.97 feet with the south line of
Survey No. 14 to a stone monument which marks the southeast comer of
Survey No. 14 and the southwest comer of Survey No. 15 in the north line
of Survey No.7; thence, North 53 degrees 55 minutes 48 seconds East,
1,833.74 feet with the south line of Survey No. 15; thence, North 34 degrees
43 minutes 29 seconds West, 2,368.58 feet; thence South 54 degrees 31
minutes 22 seconds West, 1,871.20 feet; thence South 54 degrees 10
minutes 26 seconds West, 1,687.33 feet; thence North 35 degrees 22
minutes 04 seconds West, 178.71 feet; thence South 53 degrees 59 minutes
28 seconds West, 624.79 feet; thence South 37 degrees 45 minutes 30
seconds West, 67.22 feet; thence South 21 degrees 33 minutes 00 seconds

PETITION FOR ANNEXATION OF A PORTION OF THE
CLARK MARITIME CENTRE
The Indiana Port Commission, hereinafter called Commission, hereby petitions the
Common Council of the City of Jeffersonville, hereinafter called City, to annex by
ordinance the real property described in this Petition, and in support of said Petition, states
as follows:
(1) That the Indiana Port Commission is established to promote the agricultural,
industrial, and commercial developments of the State of Indiana through the construction
and operation of ports;
(2) That currently a portion of the Clark Maritime Centre lies within the City
of Jeffersonville, however, a portion of the Clark Maritime Centre is located outside the
corporate limits of Jeffersonville;
(3) That the portion of the Clark Maritime Centre which lies with out the City
of Jeffersonville is contiguous to the corporate limits;
(4) That the Indiana Port Commission desires services from the City of
Jeffersonville, including, but not limited to: sanitary sewer collection, fire protection, and
police protection;
(5) That on August 11, 1992, the Indiana Port Commission passed a Resolution
(No. R-36) voting to petition the City of Jeffersonville for annexation of the following
described real estate at the Clark Maritime Centre into the City of Jeffersonville, to wit:

(6) That attached to this Petition and incorporated by reference therein is a copy
of Resolution R-36, a diagram of the Clark Maritime Centre, showing the portions of the
Maritime Centre which lie within and without the City of Jeffersonville, and an aerial
photograph which has been marked to depict the area which the Port Commission desires
to be annexed into the City of Jeffersonville.
WHEREFORE, the Indiana Port Commission respectfully requests that the
Jeffersonville City Council annex the foregoing described real estate into the corporate
limits of the City of Jeffersonville.
