MINUTES
November 27 2019
MEMBERS PRESENT: Rob Waiz, Director Economic Development, Bruce DeArk, Deputy Chief
JFD, Clark Miles, Street Commissioner, Eric Hedrick, Chief JFD, Shawn Grant, Asst Chief JFD,
Scott McVoy, Asst Chief JPD, Michael O'Brien, Director of Vehicle Maintenance, Chad Reischl,
Director of Planning &Zoning, Delynn Rutherford, Grant Writer, Kim Calabro, Director of
Human Resources, Len Ashack, Director of Wastewater, Heather Metcalf, City Controller, Sarah
Green, Director of Animal Shelter, Paul Northam, Director of Parks & Recreation, Amy Huffmon,

CALL TO ORDER: Mr. Waiz called the meeting to order at 9:31 a.m.
APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES: Mr. Miles made the motion to approve the minutes from
November 20, 2019 seconded by Mr. DeArk and motion passed 3-0.
OLD BUSINESS:
No old business at this time.
NEW BUSINESS:
Tom from Kempf Heating&Air—Request for approval of road closure on Wall Street at
the corner of Wall and 8th Street and at railroad tracks on Wednesday, December 4 from 9a-
11a. They will be replacing air unit on Pfau Oil building and a crane is needed and will be placed
in middle of road. Barricades needed at 8th &Wall and Wall & 9th. Mr. DeArk made motion to
approve request, seconded by Mr. Miles, motion carried 3-0.
Nick Lenfert—Request for approval of road closure in front of 617 E. 9th Street on
Sunday, December 1, 2019 to cut down tree. Mr. Miles said barricades will be needed due to
tree going across the road. Work to cut tree down will begin at 1:00 p.m. and should take
approximately 2 hours. Mr. DeArk made motion to approve request, seconded by Mr. Miles,
motion carried 3-0.
Scott McVoy—Request for approval of contract between City of Jeff Police Department
and The Refinery for Police Awards Banquet on November 20, 2020. Mr. McVoy said there is
money is budget to cover rental. Mr. DeArk made motion to approve contract, seconded by
Mr. Miles, motion carried 3-0.
Len Ashack—Request for approval of road closure on 8th Street at Short Jackson on
December 5th, 2019 from 8:30 a.m. —4:00 p.m. to repair a failing lateral connection. Mr.
Ashack said he will try to have road open each night for possible. Mr. Miles made motion to
approve road closure, seconded by Mr. DeArk, motion carried 3-0.
Kim Calabro—Request for approval of contract between the City and Kantola for sexual
harassment training. Mrs. Calabro said there is money in her budget. Mr. Miles made motion
to approve contract, seconded by Mr. DeArk, motion carried 3-0.
ADJOURNMENT: With no further business, motion was made to adjourn at 9:38 a.m.
