MINUTES
October 2, 2019

CALL TO ORDER: Mayor Moore called the meeting to order at 9:33 a.m.
APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES: Mr. Crouch made the motion to approve the minutes from
September 25, 2019, seconded by Mr. Waiz and motion passed 3-0.
APPROVAL OF THE PAYROLL: Mr. Waiz made the motion to approve the payroll, seconded by
Mr. Crouch and motion passes 3-0.
OLD BUSINESS: none
NEW BUSINESS:
Kay Still - Request for approval of Handicap Only Parking sign at 824 Walnut Street
(has been reviewed and approved by PD)
Officer McVoy indicated that this was reviewed and approved for a handicap only sign (not
residential handicap only).
Mr. Waiz made the motion to approve the handicap only sign, seconded by Mr. Crouch and motion
passes 3-0.
Brendan Brown, Kovert Hawkins Architects-Request for approval of Change Order#11 for Chapel
Lake Park
Mr. Brown presented Construction increases for the project that reduced the available contingency
and sign allowances; $1,975 for adding heating to the maintenance room and $59,379 for the arch sign.
Mr. Crouch made the motion to approve the change order, seconded by Mr. Waiz and motion
passes 3-0.
Rob Waiz/Delynn Rutherford/Verizon-Request for approval of new cell towers to be place in
various areas of the City
Mr. Waiz indicated that the balance of poles around town—excluding 4080,4089,4086, 4028 and
4029 were approved for the final review. The five poles excluded will be moved to a nearby alley or placed
on a decorative pole.
Mr. Crouch made the motion to approve the request, seconded by Mr. Waiz and motion passes 3-0.
Jeffersonville Board of Public Works—October 2, 2019
Paul Northam-Request for approval of Uniform Conflict of Interest Disclosure Statement of Matt
Siler
Mr. Waiz made the motion to approve the uniform conflict of interest disclosure statement,
seconded by Mr. Crouch and motion passes 3-0.
Legacy Excavating—Request for approval of road closure and detour request for railroad
crossing repairs on Wall Street and 12th Street starting Monday, October 7, 2019 through Thursday,
October 10, 2019
Kim Rutan explained that this railroad repair is for two locations. 12th & Watt should be finished by
Tuesday and 9th & Wall probably by Wednesday; but we requested thru October 10th if an issue arises.
Chief Kavanaugh voiced concern with detours—requesting that signs indicate options.
Mr. Crouch made the motion to approve the road closures; seconded by Mr. Waiz and motion
passes 3-0.
Kim Calabro- Request for approval of contract between the City and Brown and Brown to
assist with some presentations on the HSA's, open enrollment and cobra compliance
Ms. Calabro indicated this is an annual contract for assistance wit :mployee benefits compliance.
Mr. Crouch made the motion to approve the contract, seconded . r. Waiz and motion
passes 3-0.
