The Jeffersonville Parks Authority Met in a Special Session in the Mayor's Conference Room, City
Hall, Jeffersonville, IN on, May 9th, 2019. Members Present: Josh Kornberg, Mark Munzer, Larry
Jordan, Bill Burns, Ron Ellis and Ralph Scales. Also Present: Parks Director Paul Northam and Asst
Director Amber Ridings.
Approval of Agenda
Member Kornberg made a MOTION to approve the agenda for the May 9th, 2019 Parks Authority
meeting, the motion was seconded by Member Jordan. The motion PASSED on a vote of 6-0.
Old Business-
Northam-Contract for Boy and Girls Club (Envision Center)- The Boy and Girls Club renamed
Spring Hill Envision Center. We have had discussions on this before but now have the revisions
done to the contract.
Member Ellis asked how this will affect the children. President Burns stated that Lifespring has
stepped in to help with Health and Wellness education resources. Paul stated the fees would
be 50%or$30 whichever is less for people in certain assistance programs.
Right now men's basketball is limited to 10 teams at the fieldhouse but with the new facility we
could have up to 20 teams if needed. This is planned to be a continuation of the fieldhouse.
The hope to bring more programming to the area not to take anything away.
Member Jordan asked how it is all going to overlap with open gym and the afterschool
programs with classes.
Paul stated that there is a lot still left to be sorted out but they plan to be able to have certain
things overlap like open gym and then classes in one of the five meeting rooms.
Member Jordan made a MOTION to approve the Spring Hill Envision Center contract pending
legal approval, the motion was seconded by Member Kornberg. The motion PASSED on a vote
of 6-0.
New Business-
Simpson-The Louisville Crashers- These contracts are for our opening night act on May 31St
Member Kornberg made a MOTION to approve the Louisville Crashers contract. The motion
PASSED on a vote of 6-0.
Simpson- Blaise Street-These contracts are for our opening night act on May 31St
Member Kornberg made a MOTION to approve the Louisville Crashers contract. The motion
PASSED on a vote of 6-0.

Member Kornberg made a motion to ADJOURN at 5:47 pm , PASSING on a vote of 6-0.
