MINUTES
April 17,2019

CALL TO ORDER:
Mayor Moore called the meeting to order at 9:30 a.m.
APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES:
Mr. Waiz made the motion to approve the minutes from April 10, 2019, seconded by
Mr. Crouch and motion passed 3-0.
APPROVAL OF THE PAYROLL:
Mr. Crouch made the motion to approve the payroll, seconded by Mr. Waiz, and motion
passes 3-0.
OLD BUSINESS:
None
NEW BUSINESS:
Eric Plaiss with JTL-Awarding of 2019 City Paving Contract
Mr. Plaiss presented the recommendation to accept the lowest bid, Flynn Brothers, for
the contract work—all bids submitted were documented in a spreadsheet by JTL for review.
Mr. Crouch made the motion to approve the contract, seconded by Mr. Waiz and motion passes 3-0.
Christina Mattingly with Animal Protection Association-Request for approval of road
closure on 11th Street in front of their building on Saturday, May 11, 2019 from 10:00 am to 4:00
pm for Itty Bitty Kitty Day
Ms. Mattingly, chair of the event requested road closure for a corn hole tournament
fundraiser. The City Street Dept will block the road for event. Mr. Waiz made the motion to
approve the road closure, seconded by Mr. Crouch and motion passes 3-0.

Kevin Burke-Discussion regarding the Crusade for Children
Mr. Burke, Crusade for Children Board Member, spoke about the upcoming drive for the
Crusade, he has visited 3 of the City's Fire Stations and will visit the others soon. Fire Departments
collect 60% of the funds raise for the event with 100% given back and thanked them for their
support. Mr. Burke works for First Harrison Bank and invited the City to the fundraiser cookout in
early June at the bank on Allison Lane.
