General or Standard Change Order Explanation While Installing 36in pipe for STR 16 at 10th Street and Pratt Street,an exisitng 6"sanitary sewer main was found to be in conflict with the 36in pipe installation,The existing sanitary sewer could not be lowered and still flow into the 24in main in 10th Street.lt was determined that the 36in pipe grade would have to be raised to get over top of the exisitng 6in sanitary sewer.This required the removal and resetting of 3 sections of 36in pipe so that the grades could be raised.An item for PIPE,REMOVE AND RESET 361N PIPE PLN 233 will be established to pay for the removal and reseting of the 36in pipe already placed in order to raise it to the new grade.The existing Pratt Street 6in sanitary sewer was also found to be in conflict with the installation of STR 226 and the new pavement and curbs.Laterals along the north side of 10th Street were located and found to be in conflict with the 36in pipe for STR 19.Discussions were held between the City's Engineer's Office and Wastewater Department about the best way to keep the two residences that had laterals in conflict with STR 19 connected to the sanitary sewer.The final plan was to lower the existing Pratt Street sewer and manhole to get below STR 226 and subgrade elevation.At that time a 6in sanitary sewer pipe will be placed between the planned new sidewalk and retaining walls parallel to 10th Street.This will allow the two residences to connect to the new replacement sanitary manhole in Pratt Street.Existing contract items will be used to complete this work.The plan was discussed by INDOT,the City Engineer and Ctiy Wastewater representatives at a progress meeting.It was decided that this was a constuctability issue to maintain sanitary sewer connections and the contractor was asked to proceed with the work.SiteManager Reports Cost Analysis is included for PLN 233. There was a lack of applicable cost data for this item code due to varying supplimental descriptions used for the analysis.A complete breakdown of costs for the item was supplied by the Dave O'Mara Contractors to aid in the analysis.
