REGULAR MEETING
AUGUST 8, 2017
The Jeffersonville Police Merit Commission meeting was held on August 8, 2017 at 5:00 p.m. in
the City Council Chambers, First Floor, 500 Quartermaster Court, Jeffersonville, Indiana. President
Robert Campbell called the meeting to order with the following in attendance: President Robert
Campbell, Scott Aldridge,Jeremy Snelling, Attorney Robert Bottorff and Patty Rush. Absent were Jim
Reagan and Bonnie Deppert.
Invocation was given by Jeremy Snelling
APPROVAL OF MINUTES:
President Campbell presented the minutes from July 11, 2017 meeting, asking if there were any
additions or corrections. Mr. Snelling made a motion to approve the minutes as presented and
seconded by Mr. Aldridge. Voted 3-0
OLD BUSINESS:
Attorney Bottorff advised the Commission that he is continuing the updates on the Rules
regarding the Regular Applicant hiring process. This would allow the Merit Commission to present the
questions and total the scores. Attorney Bottorff advised that he should have information at our next
meeting. It was agreed that the Commission would continue working with IPSP for the testing.
Assistant Chief requested that they would like to schedule interviews after October 22, 2017 due to
having the physical, written test along with interviews completed.
NEW BUSINESS:
The Commission discussed an update to schedule a hearing date for Lt. Christopher Ueding. A
hearing schedule will be on September 12th, same night as our regular meeting. We will have our
Regular Meeting from 5:00 P.M. until 5:15 P.M., Executive Session 5:15 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. and
continue with the Hearing at 6:00 P.M.
The interviews were conducted for Certified Police Officers on August 8, 2017. Officer Brittany
Allen and Officer David Slovak did not qualify due to the investigation completed by the Jeffersonville
Police Department. The Police Administration is requesting for both mentioned above police officer
applicants not to be scored, nor rated any further as potential hiring applicants moving forward within
the hiring process.
A Memorandum was presented and the following Candidates are being recommended to
proceed in the hiring process. They are Gage Love and Chris Fuller. Mr. Snelling made a motion to
approve and have President Campbell sign the requested Memorandum for Record and seconded by
Mr. Aldridge. Voted 3-0
CLAIMS:
A claim from 323 ink.com on Invoice#102461 in the amount of$32.50 for Applications. This is
for the regular officer's applications not experienced. Mr. Snelling made a motion to approve the claim
in the amount of$32.50 and seconded by Mr. Aldridge. Voted 3-0
A claim from Public Safety on Invoice #30818 in the amount of$832.69 for Theodore D. Comer.
Mr. Snelling made a motion to approve the claim in the amount of$832.69 and seconded by Mr.
Aldridge. Voted 3-0
ADJOURN:
Mr. Snelling made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 5:30 P.M. and seconded by Mr. Aldridge.
Our next meeting will be held on September 12, 2017.
