SANITARY SEWER BOARD
MINUTES OF JUNE 22, 2017
The Sanitary Sewer Board of the City of Jeffersonville, Indiana met in regular
session on Thursday, June 22, 2017 at 3:00 P.M in the City Hall Mayor's Conference
Room. Mayor Mike Moore called the meeting to order at 3:00 P.M. Board Members
present are Bill Saegesser and Mike Moore. Board Member Dale Orem is absent. Also
present are Utility Director Len Ashack, Utility Billing Office Manager Elisha Dale,
Assistant Controller Yvonne Dowd, City Councilperson Lisa Gill, Jorge Lanz representing
Jacobi, Toombs, and Lanz, Lenin Kasthuri representing Lochmueller Group, and
Secretary Barbara Hollis.
Board Member Saegesser made the motion to approve the agenda, second by
Mayor Moore, passing on a vote of 2-0.
The minutes of the June 1, 2017 meeting were presented for approval. Board
Member Saegesser, made the motion to approve the minutes as presented, second by
Mayor Moore, passing on a vote of 2-0.
CONTROLLER'S REPORT
Assistant Controller Dowd presented the claim list dated June 22, 2017, requesting
the addition of a claim in the amount of$2,600.00 for a new total of$1,011,855.96. Board
Member Saegesser made the motion to approve the claim list as amended, second by
Mayor Moore, passing on a vote of 2-0.
Manager Dale presented the Adjustment Certificate dated June 19, 2017 in the
amount of$-31,624.11 Sewage, $-243.89 Drainage. Board Member Saegesser made the
motion to approve the Certificate as presented, second by Mayor Moore, passing on a
vote of 2-0.
OLD BUSINESS - No Old Business
NEW BUSINESS
Director Ashack received a request to make a minor change to 2A of the Revised
Sewer Use Ordinance. He has done this. He has provided copies of Enforcement
Response Procedures asking they been reviewed for approval at the next meeting.
ENGINEERING REPORTS
Jorge Lanz has no report but asked if there had been any contact regarding the
Crum's Lane situation. Director Ashack replied there had been none.

DEPARTMENT REPORT
Director Ashack has received the IDEM Notice for Land Application Permit. He is
now working on waivers from property owners. He does not know why, but the
Molybdenum level is down. Manager Dale said the Haven House liens are now on the
building and not the parking lot. There is a promissory note that has had recent payments.
The water will be shut off if the promissory note is not kept current. Director Ashack
informed the Board the Liters Lift Station easements are being redone. The repairs to the
Spring Street sewer North of Court Avenue are scheduled for June 25 and 26, with paving
scheduled for Monday morning. Work continues on the Request for Quotes for the Utica
Pike Sewer Replacement project. The City Council has approved the Sewer Use
Ordinance Revisions on the first reading. Director Ashack next informed the Board the
Plant has received the IWEA Laboratory Excellence award for 2017. The audit, which is
a 10 page document, received a score of 94.9%. The WWTPs monthly reports for May
2017 are provided on CD. The 2017 Budget/Expense report and the Cash Summary by
Fund reports are provided in print form.
