BEFORE THE COMMON COUNCIL FOR THE CITY OF JEFFERSONVILLE
IN THE STATE OF INDIANA
RESOLUTION OF FINANCIAL COMMITMENT FOR COMMUNITY CROSSING GRANT
WHEREAS, the Common Council of the City of Jeffersonville, Indiana (hereinafter the
Council) is the fiscal body for the City of Jeffersonville; and
WHEREAS, the Council recognizes the need to improve infrastructure in the City of
Jeffersonville; and
WHEREAS, the Indiana Department of Transportation (hereinafter "INDOT") is seeking
applications for its Community Crossing Grant; and
WHEREAS, said grant is intended to assist communities in funding certain infrastructure
projects; and
WHEREAS, said grant requires a local financial commitment of $1 million to be paid
from the special LOIT distribution (Fund 227) established by the Indiana General Assembly and
designated for infrastructure improvements; and
WHEREAS, the Council recognizes the importance of the City seeking the Community
Crossing Grant; and
WHEREAS, the Council acknowledges the financial commitment requirement for
purposes of receiving the Community Crossing Grant; and
NOW THEREFORE IT IS RESOLVED by the Council that it supports the City's application
for the Community Crossing Grant to help fund certain infrastructure projects allowed under
the grant program; and
IT IS FURTHER RESOLVED by the Council that it hereby commits $1 million from the
special LOIT distribution (Fund 227) to satisfy the local financial requirement for the
Community Crossing Grant.
