HomeMy WebLinkAbout01-23-1992SPECIAL SESSION COUNCIL PROCEEDINGS OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSONVILLE~ INDIANA JANUARY B3, 1998 The Common Council of the city of Jeffersonville met in special session in the Mayor's Conferenc~ Room, in the City-County Building~ Jeffersonville, Indiana~ at 6:30 P.M. on the 23rd day of 1992. The meeting was called to order~by Mayor Raymond J. Parker Jr., with Clerk and Treasurer C. RichardI Spencer Jr., at the desk. The roll was called and those ~resent were Councilpersons Bill Wolpert, Andrew Williams III, Donna M. Frantz, Peggy Knight Wilder, L. Marie Clapp, Robert L. Potter, and Steven R. Stemler. Absent: None. health Agent of Record, insurance benefits~ Pepper Cooper gave a brief history of the the make-up of the Insurance Committee, the stop loss and the specific aggregate. Clerk and Treasurer Spencer told how the Non-reverting Health Insurance Fund operates and that this is a new program in the State. Chief'Deputy Suzy Nevitt told how the prescriptions card and well-care reimbursement programs work. A report of expenses for the Fund was distributed and explained. Agent Cooper will be asking for permission to ~egotiate with Clark County Hospital. Councilperson Wilder has made calls to other cities and found of those she called, only Clarksville offers hospitalization ; benefits to retirees. Councilperson Potter has made calls also and found that Evansville does pay some benefi'ts. A draft of a proposed Health ~are Benefit Ordinance For Retired City Employees was presented and dliscussed. Firefighter Randy Leverett feells there should be a dollar amount in benefits paid per employee~ 'as the employee carrying a family plan derives more benefit from the City. Elliott feels if an employee serves 20 yqars, that entitled to a full single plan paid by tlhe City.
