A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING GRANT FUNDS
FROM THE PAUL OGLE FOUNDATION, INC.
WHEREAS, the City of Jeffersonville currently operates the an "animal shelter"
facility; and
WHEREAS, the current animal shelter facility is inadequate to properly serve the
needs of the City of Jeffersonville; and
WHEREAS, renovation of the existing animal shelter facility is not cost effective;
and
WHEREAS, the Mayor of the City of Jeffersonville has made an application for
grant funds with which to construct an animal shelter to remedy such problems; and
WHEREAS, the Paul Ogle Foundation, Inc. has indicated a willingness to make a
one-time contribution toward the construction of the animal shelter facility; and
WHEREAS, Josephine Ogle, the sister of Paul Ogle, was a great lover of animals.
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of
Jeffersonville, Indiana, that the City of Jeffersonville accept a one time, non-repayable
grant from the Paul Ogle Foundation, Inc. in the sum of $200,000.00 (Two Hundred
Thousand Dollars).
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS FURTHER RESOLVED by the Common Council of
the City of Jeffersonville, Indiana, that upon construction of a new animal shelter facility
for the City of Jeffersonville that the name of Josephine Ogle be memorialized by
permanently dedicating that facility in her name.
