HomeMy WebLinkAboutCOUNCIL WORKSHOP 10/19/15CITY OF JEFFERSONVILLE COMMON COUNCIL WORKSHOP 500 QUARTERMASTER COURT, ROOM 101 5:30 P.M. The Common Council of the City ofJeffersonville met in a workshop on Monday, October 19, 2015. Council President Gill called the meeting to order at 5:30 pm and on the roll call members present were: Councilperson Smith, Councilperson Zastawny, Councilperson Wadsworth, Councilperson Sellers, Councilperson Webb, Councilperson Julius, Councilperson Samuel, Councilperson Owen, and Council President Gill. APPROVAL OF THE AGENDA: Councilperson Samuel made the motion to APPROVE the agenda, seconded by Councilperson Julius passing on a vote of 9-0. AGENDA ITEMS: 1. ANDY CROUCH — Honeywell Energy Efficiency Contract for Municipality — Report of Findings Mr. James Zellman presented the project to the Council. This would be a guaranteed savings project meaning that if the City did not save the energy that Honeywell predicted in watts, Honeywell would reimburse the City. The overall sales price of the project is $1,252,000.00 with an average yearly energy savings of $112,719 and an average yearly operations savings of $6,794 and over the 12 year term of the project approximately $240,000 would be saved to put back into the budget. With this project, it pays for itself over the 12 years and includes lighting, building optimization, fuel efficiency gains, water conservation and traffic safety upgrades. The City would be eligible for a zero cost up front initiative. The Council asked if there was anything that needed to be approved since the project was not requiring money to be initiated. Mr. Zellman stated that he would like feedback from the Council on the projects. Mr. Zellman stated his next step was to go and present to the Board of Public Works to see if Honeywell was chosen as the provider. APPROVED BY: isa Gill, President ATTESTED: ze2L Vicki Conlin 1
