OCTOBER 9, 2012
Attorney Robert Bottorff called the Jeffersonville Police Merit Commission
meeting to order at 6:00 P.M. on October 9, 2012 in the City Hall, Jeffersonville, Indiana.
The following members were present: Secretary Bonnie Deppert, Clay "Beany" Smith,
Attorney Robert Bottorff and Patty Rush. Attending the meeting were members, Jeremy
Snelling and Jim Hall.
Attorney Bottorff presented the minutes from the September 11, 2012 meeting.
Ms. Deppert made motion to approve the minutes as presented and seconded by Mr.
Smith. Passed 4 -0
Assistant Scott Oliver advised the Commission that the testing for new Officers
were given the previous Saturday with four candidates not showing up for test. IPSP will
score the testing and advised that the Commission was to pay for the service. He advised
that all the evaluations were completed and turned into the Human Resources
Department.
The Public Works Board will conduct a meeting on October 24, 2012 for a
suggestion to fill the position of Vice - President Stuart Robertson who resigned from the
Commission. They will present it to the Council for approval.
Attorney Bottorff advised the Commission that there were some complaints and
letters from the new candidates regarding the testing. Mr. Snelling made motion to send
letters to the candidates and to hold a special meeting. Mr. Smith seconded the motion.
Passed 4 -0
Attorney Bottorff submitted a claim on Invoice #2985 for Attorney fees for the
month of August in the amount of $420.00 for the month. Ms. Deppert made motion to
pay Invoice #2985 and seconded by Mr. Smith. Passed 4 -0
Attorney Bottorff submitted a claim on Invoice #3130 for Attorney fees for the
month of September in the amount of $1,500.00. Mr. Snelling made motion to pay
Invoice #3130 and seconded by Mr. Smith. Passed 4 -0
Our next meeting will be held on November 13, 2012.
